This does everything it says!! I replaced another new Hamilton Beach coffee maker after thinking from the description it would be what I was seeking. But when it arrived it did not meet what I needed. Amazon was most helpful in setting up a return of the first coffee maker even though I had used it, and made the exchange to the FlexBrew Advanced coffee maker. What a huge difference. It was supper easy to set up. Has the water tank that serves both the carafe and the individual cup dispenser, makes coffee quickly, is very quiet, and takes up abut half the space. A great decision to make the change!

This has been a great purchase for our household. Love having the capability to brew pods or a full pot of coffee. The thermal carafe works well, keeping coffee warm for hours and preserving its flavor. I can make a pot in the morning and come back to it in the afternoon and it is still reasonably hot. Of course it won't be as hot when was first made, which I measured at 180°F initially, but still within range of enjoyable coffee temperature of 150°F after 4 to 6 hrs staying in the pot. In regard to the individual pod coffee option, that too has been a rewarding experience. I only experienced a problem once so far with a defective pod that failed to get pierced correctly. But that was a Don Francisco brand pod with a plastic seal rather than a foil seal that was not taut enough for the needle to break thru fully. But every other cup I have made with a pod has been a pleasant success of good tasty coffee. I think the thermal carafe version of this coffee maker is definitely the one to buy. I really like that the carafe lid is easy to lock into place and the spout pours neatly without dribbling and incorporates a little flapper to keep the heat inside the pot until poured. The opening of the carafe is wide, making it easy to reach in and clean when needed. I also like that the unit has a dedicated location to store the carafe while brewing a pod. I think this is a well thought out design that conserves counter space while allowing for flexibility of coffee making options. This is a game changer for any household looking for options to suit different members' coffee drinking preferences and also make enough to serve a group with the 12 cup carafe.

Pretty good coffee maker (I would rate it 4.5). I like how little space this takes compared to the other Hamilton beach coffee maker that I had (it started smoking and I was reluctant to buy another HB coffee maker, but liked the design of this one). Things I like: 1) Coffee from the pot tastes great (use the bold setting) 2) Design. I think this is a perfect design. Takes up little space on the counter, everything looks neat and tidy. 3) Big one: fits under counter and you do not need to move it every time you make coffee. We kept the water to the side for easy access, and the coffee filter area swings out instead of up. Other makers should take note of this. 4) Many brew options 5) No burner (we always seem to get coffee drips leaving marks) 6) Easy to set up touch screen Things I did not like: 1) It does not use the same fittings for the single brew as the old one which was a disappointment (they are shorter in this model) 2) Doesn't make great coffee from single serve (was expected as I had the other similar model) 3) Brew time in pot takes pretty long especially on bold. Only a problem when we don't schedule it. 4) Biggest complaint: Pot only allows 2,4,6,8,10,12 cups. 4 cups is just a little too little for me and my wife. 6 cups is just a waste of coffee. I don't know why they didn't do single cups on this. I don't think most people would change this setting that often that it would be a nuisance. We always set it to 4 cups. If we have company, wouldn't take long to set it to more even with individual cup settings.

Love this coffee maker! Right out of the box it started making good coffee. I will say that it brews slowly, which means that you will get a stout cup of coffee. It stays hot in the thermal pot for at least 2-3 hours. Great purchase. Blows away the Keurigs.

I am ridiculously happy with this purchase! We drink a LOT of coffee, sometimes k-cups and sometimes brewed. We switched to a dual function coffeemaker a few years ago (the kuerig duo) and it recently died on us. We did some research and ended up choosing this one primarily because it came with an insulated carafe. Holy moly, this was an upgrade! My biggest complaint about the Kuerig Duo is that you had to press 3 different buttons to brew a k-cup (and when not yet caffeinated, that's .... a lot! LOL) The HB is ONE button and it brews quickly. I can't say enough about this one - it looks great, it brews fast, it's easy to use, it was smartly designed, and ... it was a good 20+ bucks cheaper than the others we considered.

Coffee grounds constantly overflow the basket when making 8, 10, or 12 cups. We have tried multiple solutions, but none work. Also, the basket itself comes out, but the slide that holds the basket does not, which makes it even harder to clean and get all the grounds out for the next pot. On the positive side: This is the first time we have had a thermal carafe and would get that option again. Also, the options for selecting between single-serve, pot, etc are super easy. We are heavy coffee drinkers (usually 3, 10- cup pots a day, and the occasional single-serve). I would not recommend purchasing this if you are making larger quantities ....we rarely if ever only make 6 cups or less, so I cannot give a review of how the brew works for that size.
