I like that you can hold the on off button for 2 seconds until the light turns off then whatever color light you were using will come back on in the last color light you used. This is extremely helpful when I take pictures at night of the stars. I cycle through the light color options until I get to the red light color. While I am using the red lamp when I hold the on/off switch for 2 seconds the light will turn off. The next time you turn on the light the light color you were using will come back on without having to cycle through all of the light colors. This is important using the red color to preserve your night vision. I purchased other head lights that every time you turned off the headband light you were forced to cycle through all the light color options until I reached the red color I wanted. It is frustrating to be forced to hit the on/off switch 5 or 6 times until you get to the red light color I needed. You Loose your night vision as soon as your light color always begins with the white color using other brands of lights. This EverBrite light works great for my needs. This head lamp works well. I like the ability to tilt it and the way you can make it so that you don’t have to cycle through all the settings every time to get to the one you need. However, I bought it for the red light. I returned another headlamp that had a red light that was way too bright , thinking I’d be blinding the people I was going to be with. This one had a less intense red light that I thought would be perfect but unfortunately it was way too dim to be useful. Fortunately I brought a flash light with a red setting that worked better. I bought these to take my kids on a night hike (because it was too crazy hot this summer to hike during the day!) These worked for adults and kids (5 and 7.) They are VERY bright- I nearly blinded my self when I accidentally looked into it while putting in the batteries. I had to give my kids a firm talking to about NOT shining them into each others eyes! Batteries last pretty long. My daughter left hers on for 4 nights and days and it finally died. It has a few settings. Has a green, red and regular white light. The white light is super bright and the other two you can see well with out blinding other. It adjusts up and down. It was easy for my 5 year old to use.
