I used these this past weekend while camping. I bought these to go with my new sun/rain canopy. Where I camp the ground is very sandy and I was able to just push the canopy stakes into the ground with my thumb, so there’s no way it would stay on the ground if a wind blew up. I filled these anchor bags up with sand and they probably weighed 20 pounds each! You just strap these to the bottom of your canopy with the Velcro that is attached right on these weighted bags and your canopy will not move! The bags are made of nylon (not thick tarp material) but they seem to be of good quality and I should be able to get at least a few years use out of them! They have a great design and we’re VERY easy to use! If you have a shade canopy, these bags are a must!

I have used them two times and the seams ripped apart on one of the bags. Think it was defective because I have older ones that I have used many times. Not very happy

The stitching on the product is not the strongest. after a week of use I will be darning the holes created when the stitching has torn. They still work just needed some modifications. A good value for what I needed.

I purchased two 50 lb bags of all-purpose sand to fill these bags. Each pair of bags took about 20 lbs of sand to fill them so there were about 10 lbs of sand left over from each of the 50 lb bags. I've laid the sandbags on top of the large, square plastic water-filled base for my 11 foot cantilevered patio umbrella. They are adding a good deal of stability and look like they should weather well.

Welp, I see why these have busted for others. But - i still rated 4 stars. Read on to see my reasoning. The reason they're breaking is probably due to the single-stitched seams. Also, the tips on the threads are not tied off at all, so that thread will pull. And we're putting rocks/sand/dirt in them. Yeah, they're going to break. If I wanted these to bring everywhere i bring my pop-up, I would not get these. Transporting, and especially refilling, these is going to beat the up. Personally, I'm using them to ballast a lightweight patio table, so they're not moving around except for Winter. They're fine as weights that you kinda just leave there. Maybe tarps, pool covers, etc. around the yard. So, t's important to know that they're not rugged for stuffing into your camping backpack or even into the pop-up bag. Knowing that, you're looking at dual-pocket ballast bags at $2.50/ea. Price isn't bad if you're just looking to avoid using plastic bags for the same thing.
