When that 2nd one failed I was done with trying ice makers. I looked back on Amazon and found this one. Although it is same mfg., double the price, I tried it. PEOPLE ,buy this one!!!!! It makes beautiful customised ice, big ice bin, timers, auto on auto off it has everything I didnβt know I needed!! I was really disappointed in this. The reviews were very good. The size and quality of the ice cubes were fine. I like that the unit recycles the melting ice cubes so you don't have to keep filling the tank. However, I should have been suspicious when the first unit I received was clearly a used ice maker. Amazon customer service was great as usual and allowed me to return the unit easily. I received a new one right away. It worked fine, for about a week or two. Then it started making an extremely loud noise while it was running. We tried shutting it down for a while and restarting, but the loud running noise didn't stop. We were forced to return it. Amazon was great with returns as always.

The media could not be loaded. 1st machine had what seemed to be defective pump. They did reach out to us after initial review & sent a new machine without having to send the extremely loud defective one back. It's been nearly a month and it's been working well. Thanks for being honorable! INITIAL REVIEW ... Very loud whirling sound ... puts dogs on alert. Sounds like when fan blades stall on a large industrial fan. It's not timed so it's hard to get video.

This product performs exactly as described. The larger size, crescent shaped ice cubes are superior to bullet and nugget cubes made by other ice makers. For medium sized cubes, an ice making cycle lasts about 15 minutes and makes 12 cubes. Since the ice bucket that catches the ice cubes is not refrigerated, it is recommended to empty the bucket into a container in your freezer every 1-2 cycles to avoid some melting if the ice cubes.

The media could not be loaded. Well it was an awesome product for exactly 2 weeks. The unit started getting louder & louder and finally started squealing so bad I had to unplug it. I really liked this little machine. Go back to the drawing board EUHOMY this product is defective!

I am sad because this ice maker makes great ice, but a week after I got the product it started making a really high pitched whining noise. Sounds almost like the pump is going to die. I have done the self clean after a week as recommended and it subsided but returned the following week. Hoping itβs just an indication that a self clean needs to be done. I do not use tap water in this machine, I only use prefilled 5 gallon jugs of water for consumption in my home because I am on a well. Waiting to see if any other issues pop up before I decide if I am going to return before the window is up.

I love this ice machine! It has a cool backlight so you can see the ice, and it turns orange when you are low on water. The panel shows a countdown timer for when the next batch of ice is coming. The ice is good, and if I turn it off overnight I'll still have ice left in the morning.

This is my first countertop ice maker, so I don't know how it compares to others, but I think this one is good! I use mini cubes in my blender everyday, so it was definitely getting old having to refill and empty trays so frequently. Now I can just fill the machine with water, push a button, set a timer, and boom! Ice for days! π They are bigger than the mini ice I normally use, but they still work much better than normal sized cubes. The bucket does fill before the water runs out, and I wish it had an alarm or something rather than just changing color, but again, just set a timer to empty it, easy! My only real complaint is the ice size LED not turning off when it's set to anything other than default. And it didn't even occur to me that I would need an ice pick, since they're a bit wet going into the freezer, they all clump... π Update: 7 months in and the sensors appear to be failing. It will randomly read the bucket as full with almost no ice, and some of the LEDs won't shut off. Sucks, I loved this machine. π
