LOVE this AC!!! Works great. Exactly what I needed. Cools my 900sq ft apartment to around 74f (outside temp mid 80s with a ton of humidity) with no problem. It really dries the air out too. It was very easy to install. One note: I don't think I'd want it in my bedroom, the fan is not super quiet.

I had serious misgivings about this purchase, but i am very glad i bought it! Based on the design, with the drain plug too close to the floor to fit a bucket or pan underneath, i worried about emptying it. Like most folk, i don't have a floor drain on the main floor of my house, which where i want it. But it's been running daily for nearly 3 weeks during very hot & humid weather, and hasn't needed emptying yet. I worried that it would need daily empties, like a dehumidifier, but apparently not! For very infrequent emptying, wheeling it out to the deck will work fine. It's pretty noisy when the compressor is running, but the cool air it puts out makes that seem justified. Cools fast and very efficiently! It would be nice if the exhaust piping was insulated, as it radiates a bit of heat during the cooling cycle, but i expect that would add to the price, and i was glad it wasn't a budget-buster! Portability isn't straightforward, as the exhaust hose and its window fitting create extra work if you're moving it from room to room. (if that's your plan, make sure all the concerned rooms have the same size & type of window so that one adjustment will fit all) All in all, this unit is excellent value for the price and, thus far, a very efficient air conditioner.

I bought this for my daughter's old college rental house to give her roommates and her some relief from a very hot summer. It keeps the living room and kitchen cool. It dropped the temperature 10 degrees (F) within 30 minutes. Reasons for 4 stars: It is loud and it is very difficult to set up in the window. I read the reviews so arranged for a parent who is handy and lives nearby to do the installation, since it was too hard for a couple of students with a basic tool set to do. (I think they needed a saw and duct tape.) We were going to get a standard window unit but all 1st floor windows have security bars so a portable unit was the only option. It is the right size for a 10x14 foot living room which leads into a medium sized kitchen. I had thank you texts so that is a good indication that it was worth the money and the installation hassles.

I hate leaving bad reviews, and I don’t know if people can check reviews that I’ve left before but I’m always more than fair in my reviews. But this product is just junk. The plastic piece that goes in the window is very flimsy. It is not solid whatsoever. The windows on the house that I live in were redone and our normal size but the plastic piece barely fit width wise. Once I was able to squeeze it in after I had to put a piece of wood underneath it, the hose attachment is so big that when I went to put it in place it popped right out of the window. Not to mention, you have to actually screw the one piece into the other piece that goes into the window for the exhaust air. Furthermore, the part that slides onto the back of the unit slides upwards and not down and does not click into Place, so it falls off rather easily so besides taping it up or screwing that into the back of the unit as well you’re gonna have to worry about the unit overheating and having exhaust air not going out the window because the tube doesn’t stay in place. Not what I expected whatsoever. I’ve had a unit very similar to this years ago and I figured with technology getting better. This was going to be a great unit, especially for the price that I paid. However, I would not suggest this product. This is me personally, but I did not find it ease to put together. In fact I gave up. And I’m not someone that doesn’t know how to put things together, but I’m no architect either definitely somewhere in the middle but again I would highly not recommend this product.

I measured a 32 degree difference from input air to output air which is excellent. It's not an outdoor unit meaning don't get it wet but I use it to push cold air into a roof top tent. There are units designed for this which weigh less and have a "one handed" handle but don't work well for two reasons. The fans didn't blow much air and the output air only dropped 12 degrees which isn't good enough. This unit isn't exactly light but I'm only lifting it to and from the back of my SUV and it only takes up one square foot of space. I did have to create my own air connector / hose which was about $80. It's insulated so the hose only loses 7 degrees on a 90 degree day meaning the tent gets 65 degree air. The manufacturer could tap into a new market with a front air connecter like they do for the hot air. UPDATE 8-22 - Worked so good on my roof tent I figured I would try it indoors vented through a window. Instead of using the supplied plastic piece, I opted to use a standard 8" shelf board. Cut the length and a 6" hole; tightened the insulation wrap to to the AC connector using a Velcro band. Works great.
