  • Very well-designed and great sensitivity in low light
Small form factor makes it discreet and easy to mount. Detects motion better than Ring camera, especially in low light. Very happy with it.

  • Picture, connectivity was great. But.....
camera worked great until recent firmware update. Now the camera is nonfunctioning after just 4 months. Customer support is applying for a replacement so I may update this review. Update: Customer service sent out a replacement camera and so far so good.

  • Really nice security camera
Really great little camera. Pictures are super clear, nice audio. Easy to install and set up. Doesn't move, stationary but is just what I wanted. Would buy again.

  • Don't buy if you care about your privacy or companies lying to you
This used to be a five-star review. I loved that this camera didn't require a subscription and I could manage all my video locally without paying for a cloud service. I didn't want my video footage being transmitted somewhere anyway, and Eufy leans into this by claiming everything is "stored locally." Well, as it turns out, that appears to be a lie. Even if you opt out of cloud upload, Eufy has been secretly uploading user data to its database without consent or telling us, according to research by security experts. It gets worse: this data is unencrypted so anyone can access it, and people have reported being able to stream strangers' camera feeds. It gets even worse: Eufy assigns face IDs to everyone, so if you appear on someone else's camera in another part of the world, Eufy knows it's you. Sounds wild, I know. Don't believe me? Just google it. A security consultant named Paul Moore was reviewing Eufy's cameras and discovered that this was happening, and it was in plain sight. After he found this, other users were able to follow his steps and confirm his findings. LinusTechTips did a segment about on their podcast - the video clip "Why we're dropping this sponsor" includes LTT vowing to never work with Eufy or Anker again and is a good summary. Did you know that Eufy is part of Anker, and did you know Anker is headquartered in China? I am generally not that worried about privacy on my devices - my whole life is on my phone, and I've just sort of accepted it - but the level of deception from Eufy and the fact that they've gone so far as to create face IDs for everyone on its cameras without disclosing that this was being done or asking consent is unsettling. I specifically avoid services that put my data on the cloud because of how often breaches happen, and here Eufy is advertising itself as a no-cloud option when it's a lie. I can't buy Eufy or Anker products anymore, and I can't recommend them either. ... show more

  • This camera delivers high quality footage day and night. Human detection could use some tuning.
I bought two of these cameras to monitor my front and rear porches for visitors and package deliveries. They do this job very well, both day and night. It also uses the Eufy security app which also ties into my Eufy deadbolt. To be clear, this camera needs to be plugged into an electric socket but you get a 20 foot USB cable. Pros: - The magnetic mount is ingenious and the best in class in my opinion. The magnet holds the camera securely, yet allows it to be repositioned in an infinite array of positions. - High-quality videos. See my photos (attached) of my front porch day and night. The night vision is excellent and once the onboard LED comes on, the night shot is in color. - Sound. The videos come with sound. However, see Cons for sound. - Integration with the Eufy iPhone app. This is good and I can also monitor my other Eufy product (touch screen deadbolt) through the app. If I'm at home on my WiFi, there is no lag time, however sometimes when I have a poor phone signal, the videos take several seconds to load. - WiFi connection and performance. I experimented with the distance that the camera will work and send back reliable images and it works well to the same distances as my other WiFi devices. In a month of use the connection hasn't dropped once. - Realtime vs Video snippets. Using the app on my phone, I can replay all the video snippets with time/date stamps or play live video. Cons: - The Eufy app is only available for smartphones (iPhone / Android). There is an "app" available on the Apple store for MacOS but it is NOT the same app and is limited to downloading files. Eufy, get your act together here. - To store video you need to purchase a microSD card. Otherwise, you will need to store your video snips on the Eufy cloud (free trial only). - Sound. The Eufy app allows you to have a two-way conversation with someone at your camera's location. This works a lot like 2-way radio, you have to push a button to talk, then release to hear. Factor in a delay over the internet or even your WiFi and it's like having a bad phone conversation, each side saying "what?" over and over. This feature needs work. And don't try to use it if you're out and about and not on your home WiFi. - Human detection. My daughter and I laugh continuously that it has identified shadows, the back end of our car, the porch light, a spider, and a broomstick as "people". We have the sensitivity on the lowest setting yet sometimes we get a lot of false reports. In our experience, the "beta" Pet Detection is not ready for prime time unless you like getting a lot of false reports. Our pets are all cats and it did detect them. It also identified just about everything else that moves as a Pet. This includes wind chimes, various plants, tree branches and shadows. ... show more
