I really liked these lights. The ability to change colors, set a timer, and even dim them made them a great addition to our outdoor space. They add a nice, classy touch, and for parties, you can sync them to music or switch up the colors for different themes. Unfortunately, our HOA did not approve them, so we could not keep them. But if you are able to use them, I would highly recommend them. They are well-made, easy to control through the app, and give off a great light without being too harsh. ... show more

    • Amazing lights, but app is just 'okay'

Excellent lights, super happy with the ease of install, and brightness, and general design. They add a few extra adhesives and screws, packaging is well thought out, and they look beautiful in practice. Fantastic barrel connectors between sections. Also short sections (5m I guess?) which are super convenient. Physically they are flawless. My only complaint is with the app, which is almost great. It's a bit of an awkward UX, and allows for decent customization (You can create patterns, set brightness, disable specific bulbs, and set a few basic animations), but no ability to create designs similar to many of their presets. (for a simple example, I can't make the lights alternate between all red & then all green -- you could alternate every other bulb, but not switch back and forth between 2 uniform colors). Also, a color match (eyedropper tool) button would go a LONG way into making the app less frustrating (and maybe a simple default palette as well) Currently it's only a RBG color map, and once you click on a different color, you have no way of selecting that color again (except getting extremely lucky) to add an additional bulb (if for example you try to reinstate a bulb that you had turned off). It's clearly because they didn't want to make the app too confusing, but I think maybe they aimed a little too simple. Maybe a web app, where the users can create patterns? ... show more

I've had more fun with these lights, experimenting for many different ways to entertain passers-by. The options provided with the cell phone app is full of so many options -- even for "holidays" we didn't even think of (Presidents Day, Flag Day, Back to School, etc.). The option to create your own fits for colors of our favorite football team, our school colors, etc. So easy to install, they stayed up even in the bitter cold we had this winter, and the high humidity heat of the summer. ... show more

Edit June 8 2024 After some time, with these, here are my final thoughts about them. One strand has completely stopped working, another strand has a permanent green light that will not change no matter what we do to the settings. The stickies on the back of these things are completely abysmal. A lot of them have fallen off the eve of our house. At the end of the day, they look great, but they really don’t last a long time, which is really unfortunate because they’re not cheap :-( Edit nov 16 2023 Eufy support reached out to me as a result of the concerns in my review, and they were absolutely incredible to work with! I have updated the review to 5 stars as opposed to the original 3 because they worked to make sure I was as taken care of, and I really appreciate the time they took to do that. As a result, I highly recommend the lights because they are really nice and customer support is really helpful as well. :) Original review: *** The lights are super bright The power brick is not waterproof so you do have to buy your own waterproof container - while that is kinda a pain, I have other things that I plug in outdoors so I just bought a large waterproof container. That would be off putting to others though, and outdoor permanently installed electrical item… not waterproof Each strand controller also only supports 6 lights, and the designs you custom create don’t cross over. The customization aspect of these is pretty nifty and installation is super easy too. Meaning you buy three units and have six kids that you want to celebrate their birthday with their favorite colors: you have to set that up on each device. So that can get out of hand quickly.
