I really liked these lights. The ability to change colors, set a timer, and even dim them made them a great addition to our outdoor space. They add a nice, classy touch, and for parties, you can sync them to music or switch up the colors for different themes. Unfortunately, our HOA did not approve them, so we could not keep them. I really like these lights. After planning out where each strand will go, I got the whole setup -200' worth of strands - in about an hour. Make sure you clean the surface with alcohol before you stick the lights on with the included 3M adhesive tape. I made the mistake of forgetting to clean a few spots before sticking up the lights, and one came off. If the lights fall... this is likely the reason. Once they are stuck on, the adhesive is solid. The lights are very bright but can be dimmed in the app to be almost non visible if you want. The app includes dozens of different "scenes" and customization options. The basic customization are super easy to use, but you can also really get into the details with the DIY customization. Each individual light is programmable. Additionally, these lights are bright enough to use as security lights if you want and can be put on a timer. I will also say that these lights are a case of "you get what you pay for." The cabling, lights, connections, and app all seem to have gone through quality assurance testing. The app user interface, especially, is better than most other smart device apps I've used in the past. Finally, the customer service is top notch. I sent them an email about missing the extension cable, and they replied to me the next day saying that they will send one out to me right away. I could not be happier with eufy permanent outdoor lights , and plan to buy more products from them in the future. ... show more

    • Amazing lights, but app is just 'okay'

Excellent lights, super happy with the ease of install, and brightness, and general design. They add a few extra adhesives and screws, packaging is well thought out, and they look beautiful in practice. Fantastic barrel connectors between sections. Also short sections (5m I guess?) which are super convenient. Physically they are flawless. My only complaint is with the app, which is almost great. It's a bit of an awkward UX, and allows for decent customization (You can create patterns, set brightness, disable specific bulbs, and set a few basic animations), but no ability to create designs similar to many of their presets. (for a simple example, I can't make the lights alternate between all red & then all green -- you could alternate every other bulb, but not switch back and forth between 2 uniform colors). Also, a color match (eyedropper tool) button would go a LONG way into making the app less frustrating (and maybe a simple default palette as well) Currently it's only a RBG color map, and once you click on a different color, you have no way of selecting that color again (except getting extremely lucky) to add an additional bulb (if for example you try to reinstate a bulb that you had turned off). It's clearly because they didn't want to make the app too confusing, but I think maybe they aimed a little too simple. Maybe a web app, where the users can create patterns? ... show more

Edit June 8 2024 After some time, with these, here are my final thoughts about them. One strand has completely stopped working, another strand has a permanent green light that will not change no matter what we do to the settings. The stickies on the back of these things are completely abysmal. A lot of them have fallen off the eve of our house. At the end of the day, they look great, but they really don’t last a long time, which is really unfortunate because they’re not cheap :-( Edit nov 16 2023 Eufy support reached out to me as a result of the concerns in my review, and they were absolutely incredible to work with! I have updated the review to 5 stars as opposed to the original 3 because they worked to make sure I was as taken care of, and I really appreciate the time they took to do that. As a result, I highly recommend the lights because they are really nice and customer support is really helpful as well. :) Original review: *** The lights are super bright The power brick is not waterproof so you do have to buy your own waterproof container - while that is kinda a pain, I have other things that I plug in outdoors so I just bought a large waterproof container. That would be off putting to others though, and outdoor permanently installed electrical item… not waterproof Each strand controller also only supports 6 lights, and the designs you custom create don’t cross over. The customization aspect of these is pretty nifty and installation is super easy too. Meaning you buy three units and have six kids that you want to celebrate their birthday with their favorite colors: you have to set that up on each device. So that can get out of hand quickly.
