  • My go to strings
Color: Regular (45-130) Style: 5-String
These strings are my go to roundwound strings. They're smooth and have a nice feel, not as smooth as flatwounds but better feeling than most rounds. They last forever and aren't overly bright like regular uncoated slinkies (those strings tend to age fast). I leave mine on for almost a year with no issues (I own over 10 basses so I keep them rotating which helps me in prolonging their life). I play fingerstyle and slap every now and then and these cover these techniques well. After trying sadowsky rounds, d addarios, dr strings among others, these have been my go to for the past 3 years and will likely be for a log time. Give them a try, you wont regret it. ... show more

  • Absolutely love them
Color: Super (45-100) Style: 4-String
These are the first coated strings I've tried and I'm very happy that I tried them! They feel a little bit different than non-coated strings but that's not really a big deal, it's very easy to get used to. I use them on my Fender Jazz and they keep their pop and fretty sound for a very long time, and they don't get a dead sound until they are basically shot. I use a mixture of finger, pick, and slap technique throughout my playing and these strings are perfect for the job. I like how I can get bottom end but still have treble texture to add color, these strings are very dynamic and great for many different styles of bass playing. ... show more

  • No noticeable benefit to the coating
Color: Regular (45-130) Style: 5-String
Unlike with Elixers, that bright, growly tone you get with a new set of strings goes away just as quickly as with an uncoated set with the EBs. At least that was the case with the set I ordered. There's nothing really wrong with the strings, but I see no reason to choose these over the less expensive uncoated EBs. Honestly, I can't tell any difference whatsoever. They don't feel overly smooth like Elixers (I never liked the way elixers feel) and I wouldn't be shocked to find out they put an uncoated set in the wrong package. ... show more
