I’m a uke beginner. I can play the piano and the harp, so my left hand is used to doing stuff on an instrument, but I found chording on the uke very challenging. This gadget is great. You just press one button for each of the 7 chords. (And, by the way, all the chords needed to play “Over the Rainbow” [Israel Kamaka…] are there.) By making chording easier, you can focus more on learning strumming and rhythm, and trying to sing along. If you’re really just starting and need something even more simple, another option is the “Chord Buddy,” which has only two chord buttons (F and G) and a string marker for C. There are a ton of songs that use just these 3 chords. I’m planning to stick with this trainer for a while and then move up to another one that’s available with little colored buttons, where you push buttons for each string of the chord. For G (and G7), for example, you would press 3 buttons at the same time. That gets you prepared for pressing the individual strings without a trainer. I would definitely recommend trying this or one of the others before giving up on the uke!

Bought this out of curiosity. It was delivered on time but the product's defected. The chords are incorrect (Two F instead of G7). The clip is hard to clip and the buttons gets stuck even if place properly.

I bought this to help my elderly mother be able to play the instrument she adores again despite her arthritis, and she was delighted. It has a lot of important chords on it, and it worked well on our various models of ukuleles. I myself was able to clamp it on without too much difficulty, but the amount of strength you need in your hands to do that was still a major hinderance for her.

My only criticism is it’s very hard to read the chords and maybe there could’ve been a different type of cord played… But it’s working just fine and we like it otherwise!
