The crossbars are about 1/2" to long, but the side brackets fit, so I'll modify to fit. The 2022 Soul is a little wider at the rack mounts. The build quality is OK, nothing to brag about. The locking mechanism is kind of a clown car solution, but again, better than nothing. There is a rubber tube ring that sits in the groove that runs the length of the top rail, and it is much to small for the cut out, so rain is going to get in the channel. I'm going to look for a larger and better quality tube to replace the cheap undersized one they put in the channel. I revised the stars from 1 to 3, but only barely. As an inexpensive solution if you have something to cut it to fit, it will work until one of the named brands release a $400 solution. That will be a game time decision, and depending upon how this one holds up until then. It will only ever hold a 54# Kayak, so it won't be stressed. ... show more

The first picture is from their very brief flyer that had no instructions. Notice that there is no washer shown. The second photo is from my installation. A washer was supplied with no instructions and should be inserted between the head of the vertical bolt that screws into the roof of the car and the plastic tower . See picture three for final position. Note that I could not place the mounting pads evenly over the rubber strip in the roof. The bolts screw in at a slight inward angle and pull the mounting pad so that is even with the INSIDE of the rubber strip in the roof, no matter how I adjusted the length of the bars. I ended up setting the width for the front cross bar at about #3 on each side and for the rear crossbar about #1/2. Since I was alone, I had to keep going up ladders on either side of the car to get even a rough idea of the settings. In order to slide the tongue of the plastic locking cover piece into the mechanism, (#4) I had to sand the edges of the tongue a little. There were little pieces of plastic hanging off the edges that kept it from sliding in so I could lock it. The installation would have been simple had there been instructions and photos that went to the model i was installing. The box featured illustrations of crossbeams that attach to the roof rack of car, not the fixed point attachments which this rack has. ... show more

    • Ridiculously hard to install!!!

Once finally achieved installation, roof racks are sturdy and great value. Don't believe the EASY TO INSTALL ADVERTISEMENT!!! HOWEVER!!! Getting a basically 4 piece item together and securely on our Kia Soul took my husband and I, 5 hours the first day, when we had to quit in frustration, as it was getting dark, then 2 more hours the next day, and we already knew what we were doing!! The written instructions are non English crap. Had to rely on the video. Even knowing what we had to do did not make it any easier. The sticking point is lining up the vertical screw into the rack then down into the screw receiver in the car roof. We used a chopstick to try and find the hole, line up all the pieces, and then were still fishing blindly when putting the screw in. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!! Also nowhere does it say to measure your car so that you know that the wider rack is in the front and the narrower piece is in the back. So after we achieved one rack on, 4 hours, when we got to the second one, it was too wide!! Wanted at that point to trash the whole thing. But ended up going back to it the next day, taking the first one off and swapping racks and starting all over. Even knowing what to do,, did not make finding the tiny roof screws hole blind, any easier. Racks look good, seem sturdy, but I am in much sympathy why you pay an installer to put roof racks on!!! ... show more

I bought the same brand of crossbars for my 2019 Kia Soul. They were challenging to install. I bought these for my 2022 Kia Soul when I found the 2019 crossbars were too long. There were new screws sent with this model that were intended to make installation easier. I found it easier to just use the screws from my 2019 assembly. The crossbars are sufficient for carrying 2 kayaks on a regular basis, but I wouldn't plan on putting a luggage rack or anything much heavier on them. ... show more

It helps to position everything onto the car before you even think of tightening a bolt. the rack feels quite sturdy at least enough for a pair of paddle boards ( my needs ). I had one extension that had a bad interior thread and they had it replaced and shipped to me in a week. I am quite satisfied

I mean we are talking about a roof rack. First, let me say it does fit our 2022 Kia Soul. The Kia is very specific on the mount style as it uses bolts. The angles are odd and the threads were difficult. The bolt lengths were too long and the instructions were sparse. I ended up using extra washers to get it to fit tight. These make noticeable noise above 30mph. Not much options for Kia racks, so I only inform you of the options. It might be worth the extra money to buy from the dealership and deal with them on any issues. ... show more

Poor end cuts, huge tolerances. The pieces don’t fit together tightly there’s a large gap that concerns me. I wouldn’t feel safe driving down the highway knowing that this is of poor construction. It’s going back for sure. Don’t trust yours and others safety with poorly made products like this. Plus the instructions are terrible. Follow up : company did reach out to help and listen to my concerns and assured me that this a one off problem. I did order a second set and it fit together very well. Unfortunately the mount on my Vehicle wouldn’t accept the hardware provided (defective mount) so I had to return them. Otherwise I would have kept them. They actually listened to my suggestions on improving the instructions. Great communication. ... show more
