  • Excellent SOHO printer, VASTLY overpriced ink
Style: Printer Only
This would be a 5-star review except for one small thing: Epson should be ashamed of what they charge for replacement ink for this printer. One trip back to the (ink) well, and you've nearly bought the entire printer again. I get it - printers are sold at a loss and manufacturers expect to make up the loss-leader through ink sales...and that may be a reasonable strategy with the consumer market. But this is a small business-oriented product (hence the WF (work force) model-prefix), and such shenanigans just shouldn't be a part of this. Most businesses understand the concept of higher-quality, heavier-duty commercial products costing more than cheapie consumer-oriented, light-duty ones. The sad reality is that the feature-set and performance of this printer put it easily into a class where many if not most businesses would probably pay double the price for it, possibly more. It's quite good at what it does. But by pricing it not far out of the range of most consumer printers and then making the ink A) proprietary/chipped and B) exorbitantly expensive, all EPSON have done is shoot themselves in the foot. People will be motivated now to simply find ways around having to purchase EPSON ink rather than be gouged in perpetuity every time they print -- and that's a shame, because if EPSON had simply priced this unit appropriately for what it actually cost them to design/build and offered a reasonable price on the ink, they'd probably recoup MORE money in the long run. ... show more

  • It's not perfect for printing photos as it's still missing other colors ...
Style: Printer Only
Setup took a little while. Updating the latest firmware and setting up wireless to my router. I printed a test page and it's very quick. It's not perfect for printing photos as it's still missing other colors as well. It may do okay, but, stick to getting a photo printer for that case. Other than that, the print quality is okay. I can't say that this is like laser print quality, it's much clearer than my previous all in one printer which I bought back in 2010. This one is quick with printing color and black and white with ease. When looking closely at the print, you could still tell that it's like inkjet, but, more improved. Also, keep in mind that this isn't a full toner cartridge. When shaking the toner, I heard it swishing around alot and it sounds like it's not filled all the way. I'm just hoping it doesn't dry up like how it does on my previous printer and will update if I noticed anything else. ... show more

  • Didn’t include extra cartridge
Style: Printer Only
I bought this printer expecting the extra toner cartridge that was advertised. Even the quick start instructions say one is supposed to be in the box, but it was not. Otherwise, the machine was easy to set up. I downloaded the software instead of using the cd.

  • Expect Years of Trouble Free Operation
Style: Printer Only
This printer replaced an Epson WP4530 series Printer-Scanner-Copier-Fax that had served us for several years in our home based business. After countless B/W & Color pages with never a breakdown or failure, the print quality was starting to degrade even after frequent head cleaning and aligning. We still have it online on our network for printing internal documents where the quality is acceptable. That printer was, as well as our new WP4730 is connected via wifi and never drops the connection. The print quality is excellent, even down to 6pt type, and the colors are true. All the different functions operate quietly, and efficiently. I can recommend Epson P-S-C-F machines and will continue to buy Epson products. ... show more

  • Epson has lost me as a customer forever.
Style: Printer Only
Over the last decade, I've purchased about 4 Epson printers. Never again! When you first get the printer, it's great. Fast work production, beautiful print jobs. Howevern there's always a problem with the printer quality after a year. Customer service is good and they honor their warranties. But the product is just poorly manufactured. A printer shouldn't have this type of issue the first year. ... show more

  • Excellent product, good price
Style: Printer Only
Does everything well, reliable, versatile and fast. I see some complaining about ink cost--but I'm an individual, not a business. In other words, I don't use that much ink, so it is not an issue for me in the long run. Overall, it is very pleasing and well done. Edit: There is one issue with the ink. When you haven't used it for awhile or are replacing cartridges, it does seem to use an astonishing amount of ink to prepare. I went from about 45% of a cyan cartridge to about 5% just because I replaced a yellow cartridge. (This was not the XL, just regular.) That is really unacceptable. They wonder why people don't want to use "genuine Epson" ink. Gosh, I wonder why. ... show more

  • Highly recommend it
Style: Printer Only
So far this has been a awesome printer. I bought this to replace my horrible HP Printer. HP makes good products just avoid their printers. This prints very fast and good quality. Ink lasts a long time and never had any trouble with the Wi-Fi connectivity and air print unlike the HP I had with always had issues and had to restart it in order to air print. This one air prints every time. I wish it would let me put the glossy paper in the second paper tray but the only setting for glossy is the top tray. Other than that it's perfect. I would highly recommend this printer or any Epson printer over the over rated HP Printers. ... show more

  • Good printer- ink runs out quick
Style: Printer Only
So far I like how easy it was to set up this printer- the touch screen can get hard to read if you are at all at an angle trying to read it- sometimes buttons are better for just flat out “copy” ... The quality has been good but the ink runs out soooo soooo quick! I maybe printed 25 black and white copies and the ink is already getting more grey than black. It fit in our cabinet great so that was a plus. ... show more
