🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The HP DeskJet 3755 printer has a mixture of reviews, with praise for its compact size, decent print quality, easy cartridge installation, and very reasonable price. However, there are some significant downsides including issues with inkjet heads drying up if not used frequently, complicated setup process that might require technical assistance, and somewhat slow printing speed which might not suit those in need of bulk work. The HP Instant Ink Program also has some drawbacks, with quotas and charges that might not align with all users’ needs.

Pros

  • 👍 Compact and stylish design
  • 👍 Reasonable printing quality even for color photos and diagrams
  • 👍 Cartridges are easy to install
  • 👍 Great value for the price

Cons

  • 👎 Issues with inkjet heads drying up
  • 👎 Complicated setup process
  • 👎 Relatively slow printing speed
  • 👎 HP Instant Ink Program's quotas might not meet users' actual printing needs

Should I Buy It?

If you're in need of a simple, compact and affordable printer for minimal use, the HP DeskJet 3755 could be a reasonable choice if you can overcome the setup process and plan to regulate your usage to prevent the inkjet heads from drying up. However, if you regularly need to print in high volume or value a smooth setup process, this might not be the best option for you.

  • Great compact printer for basic tasks at an excellent price.
Color: Stone Style: HP DeskJet 3755
First off, the "What's in the Box" blurb on the page that I ordered from was incorrect: the printer does not come with a CD or a USB cable. It does come with the two necessary ink cartridges: one for color and one for black. That said, the CD is really not necessary, and I purchased a USB cable from Amazon for $8.99 which was delivered the next day. Setup was simple, following the very clear and easy instructions. Going online to 123.hp.com gets you to the software download, accomplished quickly in simple steps. I opted out of the automatic ink option, since this is a printer that will not be used frequently. After the connections and setup were done, the single test page printed, in color, very quickly. I also printed a page that was simply text - it printed very quickly (less than 5 seconds from hitting the "print" option on the app). There is a recent review as of this writing that complains that the printing is very slow, but I would guess that is a local software or connection problem, and not a problem with the printer, unless the unit is defective in some way. All in all very pleased with the footprint (it sits with room to spare on a 20" X 10" side table top), ease of use, functionality, quality, and value. Update 7-18-2023: Still a good, compact, reliable printer for light use and basic tasks. But I have it directly connected and dedicated to a single desktop computer, so I can't comment on the WiFi issues. I must modify my initial statement about how quickly it prints text - my first pages were MS-Word documents, and it worked flawlessly and fast. Printing text from PDF files is much slower, about 45 to 60 seconds per page. So not a printer I would recommend for high volume PDF file printing. ... show more

  • Inexpensive and absolutely GORGEOUS COLOR!!
Color: Seagrass Style: HP DeskJet 3755
My other printer died in the middle of a large project and since I had one of the HP desk jet 3700's years ago and absolutely loved it, I got this one . When printed out on glossy photo paper the quality is the best !! But even on regular paper it is very good. It does not print as fast as the earlier HP Deskjet 3700's , but the quality MORE than makes up for it. I have even run the same artwork back through the printer to add an object or type, and it is flawless, as long as you use the same artwork on the computer and delete what it has already printed, adding just the missing or new item and running the print back through. Great!!! ... show more

  • Disappointed
Color: Stone Style: HP DeskJet 3755
I’ve now had this printer for over a year and STILL have not gotten used to it - I’m unable to make it work over half the time. I wanted a super simple regular printer, plug in and print, and this was NOT that for me. You have to have these sign ins and an app and everything, and I have yet to find anywhere where it’s just written on how to troubleshoot issues - you are stuck watching these several minute long *ridiculous* troubleshoot videos, they don’t always play (video unavailable), and the majority of the time DO NOT include the information you wanted. The majority of suggested fixes include you having to print out all these troubleshoot documents and diagnostics to try to fix whatever issue, and it’s pages and pages. And a MASSIVE WASTE OF INK - Like, seriously? Did they think this was a good way to do that? I do not understand the thinking behind it. This is not a user-friendly printer when it comes to issues, and I’m just very disappointed. For the price, this is a shame. ... show more

  • Piece of junk, Horrible scanner. A waste of money.
Color: Seagrass Style: HP DeskJet 3755
Update August 2023 I am tired of all the problems this piece of junk is giving me. Now looking for a new, non HP printer with a flatbed scanner. Do not waste your money on this thing. It will just disappoint you, in a few months. Update May 2023 For some reason, this printer stopped printing PDF files. I was getting around the not printing Black by having the pdf files print using blue. Blue still prints, just not PDF files. Tried other colors, the same results, no printing PDF files. This includes Amazon Return labels. Update Oct 2022 Stopped printing black. I have printed less than 10 pages. I replaced the ink cartridges (HP cartridges) still will not print anything needing Black. July 2022 Bought this to replace my old HP wifi printer/scanner (upgraded to windows 10, no HP drivers for a 14 year old printer). PROS 1) Small footprint 2) Prints really good 3) Fast printing. 4) Can scan single sheets of paper. Cons: 1) NO flat bed scanner, which I use for everything from receipts, to stamps, to old pictures, pages from a book, to full sheets of paper. (Not with this thing). 2) Can ONLY scan full sheets of paper. a) Need a store receipt scanned? Forget it, you MUST tape it to a FULL sheet of paper, wasting the paper and messing up the receipt. b) Need to scan a page out of a book, not with this thing, unless you are going to tear the page out of the book and tape it to a full sheet of paper. c) Want to scan in old photos, 100% forget it, i) photo must be taped to a full piece paper. (Tape will not be coming off the photograph when done. ii) the rollers pulling the paper through the scanner will totally destroy old photos. So do NOT try it unless you want horribly scanned and destroy photos. I can only rate this as three (3) stars because this is a very good printer with a totally worthless "scanner" function. Cannot scan small things like receipt. Will totally destroy any old photographs you might want to scan. This device should have been sold as a printer only. Only then would it be 5 stars for is speed and print quality. The horrible/worthless built in scanner drops the rating down to no more than 3 star. Whose dumb idea was it to incorporate a single sheet roller scanner in to home printer? It adds no value to this device. ... show more
