  • Amazing picture quality Amazing picture quality
Color: Black
This is an upgrade for me. Switching from a Cinegrey 5d 120 in. screen and Epson 4100 to this Epson Lifestudio Grand Ultra Short Throw Laser Projector with a Fresnel ust 120 in. screen is like night and day. I’m so glad I switched. The downside is the WiFi isn’t that reliable. It started lagging a in the last couple of days. Great color and brightness. In order to get it to work normal again is to do a factory reset. I hope they can come up with a solution soon with an update. ... show more

  • missing remote control, would be nice to have an alternative
Color: White
delivered without a remote controller, without a remote controller is impossible to set up the projector. ended up buying 3 different remotes, but none worked... epson doesn't have that specific remote to sell... so i have a useless projector at home that i will have to return

  • Wi-Fi Connection Failures
Color: White
A nice projector with a serious wi-fi Achilles Hill. Epson support suggested "intermittent wi-fi" as a culprit although I was wi-fi'ing to the Epson's web site while speaking with Epdon support. After a complete reset I was able to connect. Yet, the connection to the previously connected network failed repeatedly a couple of days later. Also, I was unable to use Add Device from the Wi-Fi network screen to connect thevorojector. Obviously, Wi-Fi has yet to mature on this system. On another note, support told me that this projector is not compatible with the IProjection app. Like another reviewer here, I spent hours trying to connect IProjection. Had I written the IProjection software, I would have queried the projector for the model number (SOP with remote controlled systems) and reported to the user: "the LS670 is not supported. Please use Miracast instead...". ... show more

  • Wireless connect is a nightmare
Color: Black
Great projector. However I have spend hours to connect using iPhone mirroring or using Iprojection app native from Epson, which consistent “projector not found”. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a IT person, I have tried all the settings, WiFi config, restart iPhone, projector, soft/firm ware updates, using QR code or ip addresses, read online chats, or even try to connect with epson person. Now, if you just using it to watch TV, YouTube, it’s a perfect projector with great sound. But for me, I want to mirror my phone or wireless project for presentation, or anything wireless connection related, it’s a nightmare. ... show more

  • A truly incredible viewing experience
Color: Black
Prior to this I was using a fairly middle of the road 1080p projector and I was pretty happy with it. Bright, vivid and low enough latency for most takes. I got this one opened up, found a place for it, plugged it in, powered it up and pretty much immediately I was absolutely blown away by the absolutely massive difference in brightness and image quality between that one and this one. I mean genuinely substantial. While I consider myself a technically oriented person I am not an expert in the realm of home theater, but your eyes and ears don't lie to you and this thing is absolutely incredible, especially for something you can tuck up against the wall like a normal TV. It is quite large compared to other projectors, but that is just the nature of short throw tech and the upside is that it makes more room for substantially better audio, which this one does quite well. While no projector performs at its peak in a sunlight filled room, this one does quite well. With some curtains closed and blinds down, a still somewhat daylight filled room, this performs well. Not perfect, as no projector is in that environment, but totally reasonable and I never found it to be underperforming. I noticed some people complained about the lack of bass response, which is accurate, but I would not consider that a downside at all, more of a side effect of trying to fit all that sound into a projector. You're not going to get good bass response without a properly tuned enclosure and drivers, which a projector is not the foundation for. With that said, the included Bose sound is absolutely incredible for something coming out of a projector. It is very, very pronounced and really fills the room. While not super bassy, the low end is quite impressive for what is essentially a really nice soundbar. The soundstage is really impressive and even compared to a high end TV this really, really outperforms anything I've ever heard from a built-in audio solution. With no audio this thing is still very, very quiet and at no point did I hear active cooling over audio even with it down very low. While this has plenty of I/O the included GoogleTV setup pretty much covers everything. Every major app that currently exists is fully compatible with this right out of the box. YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, Plex, etc. It's all there. For a typical home theater setup this is everything you need - picture, sound, apps are all packed into this projector and it does all if it incredibly well. Expensive, yes, but a comparable high-end TV comes in to about the same price point and maybe aside from some tradeoffs in picture, this does it all better. This is hands down the best experience I've had with a projector and nothing else has really come close since. You are truly spoiled with this in your living room. ... show more

  • Solid, High-End Projector with Easy Setup---Initial Impressions Solid, High-End Projector with Easy Setup---Initial Impressions
Color: Black
I’m not able to fully test this projector yet because I still need to install a ceiling-mounted dropdown screen (I don’t have any usable wall space). However, I did want to share my initial impressions based on unboxing, setup, and basic use. The projector arrived very well packaged, with good protection inside the box to keep it from moving during shipping. There was no damage to the box or the projector itself. It comes with a remote control and power cord, and my first impression was that this unit is bigger and more substantial than I expected. It measures about 18.5" x 16" and weighs a little over 16 pounds, so it feels very solid and high quality. Physically, the layout is straightforward. It has multiple ports (including HDMI, USB, Bluetooth, and a jack), and it also connects via Wi-Fi. There’s a power button on the side and venting on the top. It was very easy to get it plugged in and powered on. Because this is an ultra-short throw projector and I don’t have a screen yet, I tried projecting it onto my ceiling just to see what it could do, and even that image was very bright and clear. Setup was simple. The built-in Google TV was easy to set up using a barcode, and menu navigation is intuitive. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth setup were both easy as well. I’m not a technical person, but the interface feels smooth and responsive. I also tested the sound. I’m not an expert on audio, but the Bose sound is clear and strong enough for my living room. Dialogue is easy to hear, and it has a nice fullness for built-in speakers. That said, I plan to use my external surround sound system with it once my setup is complete. The laser projector itself is quieter than I expected. The fan noise is not loud at all, and the unit doesn’t put out an excessive amount of heat for a projector of this size. It also powers on very quickly. Overall, my initial impression is that this is a very solid, premium projector with good user-friendly design and easy setup. Based on build quality, features, and my early use so far, I feel comfortable giving it 5 stars. Once I have my ceiling screen installed and can really test picture performance in a proper setup, I will update this review with more detailed results. ... show more
