Style: ET-4800 (Renewed)

Color: White

Set: FAX/ADF/Print/Copy/Scan

Description

Your home office needs a printer that’s fast, affordable, and easy to use. That’s why we developed the EcoTank ET-4800 – an innovative cartridge-free solution that uses high-capacity, easily refillable ink tanks. So you’ll worry less about running out of ink, and save a lot on replacement ink (1). The ET-4800 features genuine Epson print quality, an auto document feeder, fax, a high-resolution flatbed scanner, and convenient color display – making it the perfect basic home office printer. Epson strongly recommends the use of genuine ink to ensure optimal print quality and performance. Use of non- genuine ink could cause damage not covered under the printer’s ltd. wnty. | 1. Actual savings and costs will vary considerably based on print tasks, print volumes and usage conditions. Savings and cost per ISO page are based on the cost of replacement ink bottles and the cost of enough standard cartridges to achieve the total page yields of the bottles using the MSRP (USD) and yields for Epson standard-capacity ink cartridges for similarly featured Epson consumer inkjet printers as of March 2024. | 2. Individual cartridges estimate based on print yields of an included or replacement set of black and color ink bottles as compared to Epson standard-capacity ink cartridges for similarly featured printers as of March 2024. | 3. Part of the ink from the included bottles is used for initial setup; yields are lower than those of replacement ink bottles. Replacement and included ink bottle yields based on the ISO/IEC 24712 pattern with Epson’s methodology. Actual ink yields will vary considerably for reasons including images printed, print settings, temperature and humidity. Yields may be lower when printing infrequently or predominantly with one ink color. All ink colors are used for printing and printer maintenance, and all colors must be available for printing. For more information, visit | 4. Based on average monthly document print volumes of about 125 pages. | 5. See for device compatibility. Epson Connect account and voice-activated account registration required. | 6. Most features require an Internet connection to the printer, as well as an Internet- and/or email-enabled device. For a list of Epson Connect enabled printers and compatible devices and apps, visit | 7. Requires Epson Smart Panel app download. Data usage fees may apply.

  • Great Printer with no Annoying Ink Subscription!
Note: This printer came with the oddest packing materials I've ever seen in my life. And you do NOT want to step on one of these late at night! It makes a LEGO brick underfoot feel good! The Epson EcoTank ET-4800 is a breath of fresh air in a world dominated by frustrating ink subscriptions and overpriced cartridges. Instead of forcing you into a monthly payment plan just to keep your printer functional, Epson gives you a massive ink reservoir that you refill yourself—no hidden fees, no sneaky auto-renewals, just straightforward printing. Performance & Print Quality For a home or small office printer, the ET-4800 delivers solid performance. The print quality is crisp for documents, and while it’s not a professional photo printer, it handles color prints well enough for most everyday needs. The scanner works smoothly, and the automatic document feeder (ADF) is a nice bonus for scanning multiple pages. Ease of Use & Setup Setting up the printer is refreshingly simple. Filling the ink tanks is surprisingly mess-free, and once you’re up and running, you won’t be constantly swapping out tiny, overpriced cartridges. Epson includes a generous amount of ink in the box—enough to last thousands of pages—which is a game-changer compared to traditional inkjet models. Cost Efficiency This is where the ET-4800 really shines. The upfront cost is higher than a standard inkjet, but you quickly recoup that with the absurdly low cost per page. The ink bottles are much cheaper in the long run than cartridges, and you’re not held hostage by a subscription service just to keep printing. Potential Drawbacks It’s not the fastest printer on the market, and the lack of duplex printing (automatic double-sided) is a small inconvenience. The display screen is tiny and not touchscreen, so navigating menus can feel a bit outdated. But if you’re prioritizing cost savings and reliability over bells and whistles, these are minor trade-offs. Final Verdict The Epson EcoTank ET-4800 is a fantastic option for anyone tired of the traditional inkjet printer racket. No subscriptions, no constant cartridge swaps—just a reliable, cost-effective printer that does what it’s supposed to do. If you print regularly and want to save money (and frustration) in the long run, this is one of the best choices out there. ... show more

  • Great printer. Easy to use.
I have had a lot of printers. This is my first Epson. I used to swear by HP's. It is a great little printer. I would buy one again. There is a small learning curve. It even renumbers to save energy when it has not been used in an hour and shuts off. COOL. Not having to mess with cartridges is a blessing. HOWEVER you will need to get a set of Epson ink bottles for your first fill. then refill the Epson bottles with Generic ink. Why, Because Epson made the bottles a lock and key style. I made the mistake of trying to use a hose and a funnel. It worked but was a mess. Print quality is great but not artistic quality. Epson, You have a new customer. ... show more

  • Defective Automatic Document Feeders (ADF) on 2 machines!
This was a disappointing purchase. Printer 1 - ADF would not grab the document. I could hear the gears spinning but it would not engage traction on the documents fed into it. (About 1 1/2 hr of setup time wasted, but Amazon setup a replacement to be overnighted) Printer 2 - received the next morning. Great, but still had ADF issues. With the new machine, it took the doc's, but then made extremely LOUD clicking noises when the doc was about 1/2 way thru. It was like a gear was out of alignment or something. All Amazon could do is offer a refund. Another day wasted. Epson referb's are horrible. ****** Update. **** So I decided to purchase a new Epson to see the difference because I really like the feature set. I had used Epson before, and it was a reliable product. Write out the box once I set it up and put in the ink the - document feeder worked perfectly! I was scared I was doing something wrong with the refurb, but this shows that both the refurbs were defective. ... show more

  • Refurbished Premium - Not so premium but Amazon was great
Well packaged, but upon opening could hear rattling, then a small white plastic part fell out. Tried to set it up anyway, got error codes (PAPER JAM and SCAN error 100077). Tried everything in our power, but no luck clearing error codes. After few hours of trying, Amazon kindly offered to refund or replace it. Returning it today for a replacement. I've had very good luck with Amazon Warehouse/Resell items in the past, so this was unusual. Amazon definitely stands by its promises. Thank you, Amazon. Amazon replaced the printer the next day, and Printer #2 is working perfectly. Fabulous customer service! ... show more

  • NO clear, crisp colorful formal printer. Ink life and $$ is #1 reason to purchase this.
This Epson ET-4800 printer is so valuable because of the ink cartridges!!!! They are so great and not ROBBING me. Finally. It is so economical. That being said, the printing is good for home, light school or office review or drafts. The colors are so so. Nothing is crisp and colorful....the pictures are not some that you would print for photos. Great for teens or as stated, printing emails to read or review. It is what a 'home office' can utilize. If you want a crisp, colorful laser quality printer, an affordable option may be a professional local print shop services place. For home, this is really economical ink and printing. ... show more

  • Refurbished Epson
I’ve had HP printers for the past 20 years. The latest one stopped printing this week because I wasn’t using HP inks. HP finally caught up with the work-around I used for years to get the printer to work with non-HP inks. No more HP printers for me. I don’t like being held hostage. Years ago I used an Epson printer at work. I was really impressed with the crisp printing. So I purchased this refurbished Epson. It took about two hours to get it to print; it doesn’t setup like an HP. However, I soldiered on and it is now working great. The print quality is good. It is pretty slow printing photos, and I’m not crazy about the paper loader at the back of the printer, but I’m satisfied. I hope I haven’t jinxed myself writing that! ... show more
