How wonderful to receive a product that not only meets but EXCEEDS your expectations. It is a good thing that many buyers posted videos of this product at home, or I would never have spent the money on a "simple" pair of solar lights. And these are definitely not simple solar lights! It is hard to explain--seeing really is believing--but somehow, these LED lights flash and flicker in just a random enough way to trick your eyes into seeing flames licking up inside the cage of the torch. They are quite realistic, even up close! Besides the realism of the "flames", there are other features that make these lights worth the purchase: --They are bright enough to cast a warm, firelike glow over an area like a walkway or patio --The solar panel on the top is larger than those on a typical cheap light --They look and feel sturdy and well-made, and are larger than they may appear in the photos --There is an on/off button if you choose to use it I purchased my first set of these for a gift, and now I am ordering more for myself! ... show more

    • Most realistic flame effect EVER!
These things floored us! I admit they're plastic...but here are the great things: 1. No tabs to remove or plastic film to peel off; they show up two in a carton with bubble wrap over the heads. 2. The button to turn them on requires a longish press, which keeps them from turning on or off accidentally when bumped, and it's covered with rubber. 3. Easy to test--hold one hand over the solar panel (which is the entire top of the torch, not a small rectangle or square) and hold the button until the lights turn on. 4. Last a LONG time... The first night we put them out, just after the spring equinox, they were still full brightness at sunrise. 5. BEST of ALL: these look just incredible. They look for all the world like a little basket of fire, or like we left our big fat Tiki torches burning. The flame effect and color are so realistic, I almost worry that someday we'll have a real fire and won't notice it because we're so using to these things scattered about the property. We have 8 set up right now, and want to put out about 20 more around our rural property. ... show more

    • Stake and pole part could break easily

All the lights work and they look awesome. I might buy additional set. Sturdiness wise, we'll have to see. The plastic on the pole and stake parts seem to be the biggest issue. They are a little thin and might break if strong enough wind comes through. However, the light part itself seems very thick and sturdy, which makes the whole pole top heavy. Big advice!! Because the stakes and poles are thin, you have to be careful on how much force you are using to put it together or when pushing stakes into ground; they can bust easily. I was aware of this before purchase so I took my time. The best way to get it in ground without breaking seems to be taking the stake, attaching it to 1 extender pole only, push it in ground, then attach the additional pole with the light. These torches have a beautiful blue colored "flame" at night. They are quite expensive, compared to other outdoor lights, and I thought they were a set of 8. Disappointed to only receive 2 lights since they are about $20 each! They are nice, but very costly. They are very nice and look good. I'm afraid to put them out front for fear someone might steal them at night. ;>) My only concern is you can't use them near the patio because they don't get enough sunlight during the day to remain burning past 9pm. They go out early. The ones out in the middle of the yard (that get full sun) stay on past 10pm. I'd prefer them to outline my patio, but the dirt is in part shade. If I put the lights out in the middle of the yard, they are too far to see at night. Wish you could fix these to burn longer. ... show more

Had an issue with one of the four , had intermittent operation , also was usually dimmer than other three. Also would not last even half as long as others ( these stay on a little after dusk til at least 5am ! ) love the way they look. Easy to install. Seller swapped them out quickly. Used one out of the new package and even without being charged performed longer and better than the one that had an issue. Good value. We shall see how long they hold up thru hot California summers , overall happy with light output , the look and the seller ! ... show more

We also bought 2 boxes for friends as a gift Unfortunately, 2 of the lamps died just at the 2 year mark. They were pretty pricey for only lasting 2 years ... show more
