  • The best just got better.
Style: 518.A65
Been a fan of this brand for years and this new model is going to keep it that way. I've read a few articles on how EOTechs aren't holding at sub arctic temperatures or some nonsense like that, but I don't care. I use this on a 12 gauge and my AK47, roughly 10000 rounds a year. I don't run obstacle courses or submerge it in water, I just go out in the woods or quarries and shoot a bunch of stuff with my friends. I have not used this site farther than 125 meters away, but to that distance I can shoot DVDs out of your hand all day. Easy to zero in and even detaching multiple times it still holds with no issues. I don't mind the size of this, because I'd rather purchase AA batteries than those little ones for the price. Aimpoint fanboys, I don't plan on leaving my gun sights on for 500+ hours without turning it off, so that's not a selling point or an argument. If anything, I feel that not turning it off makes you a negligent shooter and anything said invalid. Great accessory for casual to hardcore shooters. The price is hefty but well worth it. I've seen plenty of the 200ish dollar imitation sights break after being dropped or lose zeroes after swapping weapons. Never had that issue with any EOTech I've ever owned but if I do, I promise to come back and edit this review with pictures/video evidence. ... show more

  • Fantastic optic
Style: 518.A65
There's a reason EOTech and Aimpoint are gold standards for laser optics. The 518 provides excellent and quick target acquisition with its large, anti-reflection window and thin surrounding metal frame. Like all EOTech sights, the reticle is parallax-free, meaning that it points where the barrel does, even if your eye isn't right behind it. Lots seem to complain that EOTech reticles look "fuzzy", but that's usually for one or two reasons: 1. The brightness is set too high for your current environment, which causes the reticle to "bleed" light around the edges. 2. You need to see an optometrist. The hologram technology causes those with sub-par vision to see a fuzzy sight. Even though I'm nearsighted (so objects close to me usually look clear), looking through it with and without my contacts produces a night and day difference in the clarity of the reticle. Despite its hefty price, this optic feels like it was worth every cent. Features I love about this model in particular: - The quick-detach system is fantastic - you can attach and remove it from your rails in seconds, and it always seems to hold zero. - The side-mounted brightness buttons allow you to adjust it with your left hand, even when you have your rifle up. ... show more

  • Really nice holographic sight
Style: 518.A65
Really nice holographic sight. It's my first holographic sight, and my first experience with EOTech. So far, it's a pleasant experience. I'm very much used to either iron sights or the ACOG from Trijicon, and I still prefer the ACOG. But with this EOTech being literally half the price, it makes up for the nitpicking shortcomings I perceive. Like the need for batteries, and a power switch. With the ACOG, it has no need for batteries, and it's an option that you can use immediately upon shouldering the weapon, much like iron sights. With the EOTech, you need to turn it on, and then, depending on the ambient light, you need to adjust the intensity of the crosshair. But for taking it to the range, it's a great addition to any rifle. Quality wise, it gets 5 stars. Fit and finish- 5 stars. Cost effectiveness- 5 stars. My personal preference- 3 stars. But it gets a 5 star rating from my objectivity. Hope this helps! Good luck ladies and gents. And happy hunting/target practice ... show more

  • Takes a beating!
Style: 518.A65
I serve on a police department and am also part of a regional SWAT Team (entry team). To me, you can't get any better for the money. I'll keep it short.. I shoot alot, alot! (Doesn't mean I'm any good...you'll have to ask the bad guys for an answer). This site has been slammed into doorways, railings, furniture...you name it! It still hangs in there! What do you expect when you're running in , and out of doorways at 0400 hrs...trying not to get shot! Love the side controls. I have my EOTECH mated up to an old Colt M-16 (full auto) with a ten inch barrel. The EOTECH under automatic fire select is very easy to aquire and hold steady....but mostly I love the fact that this thing can take a beating. I highly recommend it! Shoot safely....be safe out there! ... show more

  • It's legit
Style: 518.A65
It's an Eotech so the quality speaks for itself, but for those worried about fake Eotechs on Amazon, I confirmed the serial number with Eotech just to be safe and it's legit. Highly recommend the product and seller
