  • Great Everyday Companion with a Few Minor Quirks
I've been using the Engwe L20 electric bike daily for a few months now, and overall, I absolutely love it. It's become a reliable part of my routine—whether I'm commuting to the office, heading to the beach, or taking it on the Metra. It's lightweight and portable enough that I can even fold it and fit it in the back seat of my sedan when needed—super convenient! What I Love: Battery Life: The battery life is excellent. I can go several days without charging depending on how much I use pedal assist. Speed: It’s fast enough for city riding. While the specs say it can reach 28 mph, I’ve maxed out at about 21 mph on full throttle, which is still plenty for my needs. Convenience: Folding frame and sturdy build make it perfect for mixed-mode commuting and weekend fun alike. Room for Improvement: Brakes: The disc brakes are my biggest issue. They’re very close to the rotor, and despite my efforts to adjust them, they keep squeaking—even when I'm not braking. When I do brake, it makes a loud “squeeeeeeek” that can be a little embarrassing in quiet areas. Battery Indicator: It tends to stay at full bars (5 points) for a long time, and then drops suddenly to 1, which makes it hard to judge how much battery is actually left. Despite these minor drawbacks, I genuinely enjoy riding the Engwe L20 every day. It’s a fun, practical, and eco-friendly way to get around town. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a solid commuter e-bike with great value! ... show more

  • Some assembly required
Really happy with this purchase. Im 5'6" 170 lbs and am standing on my tiptoes when seated, but really like the pedal stroke. Only con I see so far is the minimum seat height the Engwe L20 2.0 is really best suited for taller riders, or those with really long legs. Ive a 33" inseam so the minimum seat hieght is just a few inches taller then is comfortable when sitting at a stop; im on my tip toes. I did struggle with aligning 2 bolts for the rear cargo rail as the front two bolts wouldn't line up. 40 minutes later had too take a break and come back to them as it was getting frustrating. Another 5 minutes later after getting 1 of the bolts in the 2nd bolt went in easily. It did take nearly another hour getting both front and rear disc breaks aligned so they weren't rubbing on disc pads when rotating the tires. Delivery was fairly quick, ordered on the 28th, near midnight. Shipped on the 29th, arrived on the 5th of July. Likely would of arrived had the 4th not been a holiday. Went on a short 2.5M ride last night. A short test of pedal assist levels. PAS 1-2 are very comfortable pedaling. PAS3 is about the fastest I can actually pedal with. PAS4 I'm ghost pedaling and not really able to keep up with pedaling, feel like im actually pedally with any kind of resistance. Just spinning the crank so that power is being used which is doing all the work. Same for PAS5. Thinking for me, PAS 2 and 3 are likely to be the most used by me. I purchased the Engwe L20 2.0 for the intended use of going on longer bike rides, 20+miles. Update: 33.4 mile ride on 1 charge. Initially in PAS 4 (20mph pedaling) and moderate throttle use on rolling hills I rode 25.3 miles using 60% or 3 battery bars. Switched to PAS 3, rode another 8.1 miles 15.5 mph for a total of 33.4 miles. I still had power showing 1 bar (last 2 miles battery bar had dropped to 1 bar) but stopped my ride as it was 97°f and I was getting really tired. I am guessing I could of gotten another 4-5 miles on PAS3 before completely draining the battery. Anyways that's my first long ride I've ridden in over 3 decades of not riding a bike. I'm really impressed with the performance so far. Initially I thought pas3 (15.5mph pedaling) would be used the most but after riding I got used to pas4 (21.4mph pedaling) was very comfortable and climbed rolling hills easily without any difficulty. Headlight was bright enough to see the road clearly, I'll likely add on another headlight, rechargable wider area of lighting, high low beam etc, previously purchased for previous pedal bike. Still the stock light is usable and adequate but I'd suggest a higher quality head light for any serious night riding. Rear light is very bright easy to see and break light is nice. Likely I'll be adding on a turn signal light kit. Honestly I think stock turn signal lights would be a great improvement for Engwe to add to all thier models. I plan on going on a long distance ride this morning(updated above) before it gets to hot outside, it's summer with a heatwave warning this weekend so I might cut the distance short but still want to get a good understanding of range on heavy throttle use. Anyways this is a very powerful ebike in my opinion. Really nice price , great performance just from a 2.5M test ride (update 33.4Mile ride on 1 charge with power left) out of the box after 2 hour charge time. Guessing battery was 66-70% full when delivered as charge time is stated 6 hours for a complete charge with the 2Amp charging station. Oh if your hearing a loud whining, griding noise when spinning tires by hand then realign the disc brakes. Tires should spin freely without making any noise. If you don't realign the disc brakes your going to wear out your disc's quickly, get terrible distance and make a lot of noise that you shouldn't be making. ... show more

  • Great Bike at a Great Price Point
Color: A: Black Style: 52v 13ah
This bike has been a game changer for me. I look forward to getting home from work every day to go for a ride. Once the kids go to bed, I zip around the neighborhood at sunset. This bike can scoot! I went to the local bike shop to get a stronger helmet. I'm a fan of the lights and the brake light. The brakes are great on this bike. I'm 5'10" and I have the seat at one of the lowest settings. I did some homework prior to purchasing this bike. I looked at different brands and different types of bikes. This can be considered a Class-3 ebike, however, keeping the pedal assist at level 3 keeps this bike under 20 mph in order to ride on bike trails. However, this bike allows you to get up to 30 mph when you're riding on the side of the road to keep up a little more with traffic. I live in a rural town and this helped me feel a lot safer when I have to use the side of the road. It took about 6 hours to fully charge the battery out of the box. I opted for this bike because the price point seems low for the durability and quality of the bike. There are bikes in the $500 range but they don't seem as versatile and the batteries don't last as long. I was looking at bikes in the $1200 range, but this bike actually goes faster for a longer stretch than many of those bikes. I'm using this bike for my 2-mile commute and for bike path riding. I had two issues with assembly, I couldn't get a pedal to thread correctly and I couldn't figure out how to mount the kickstand. I emailed customer service and they were responsive within 12 hours, actually quite impressive. I greased the pedal thread and it worked. Overall, I'm impressed with this bike. I've had it for about two weeks now. I've sold three bikes to family and friends in the meantime by bragging about my new bike! ... show more
