  • Professional‑Style Compression Kit with 0–300 PSI Gauge for Cars, Motorcycles, and Small Engines
Model: Black-8PC
This compression tester delivers fast, accurate readings with a clear dual scale gauge and a solid set of adapters that fit most gasoline engines. The 3-inch dial is easy to read, the pressure relief valve works smoothly, and the included case keeps everything organized. A reliable tool for diagnosing piston ring wear, valve leaks, and head gasket issues without guesswork. I used this compression tester on my GMC Envoy after months of chasing a coolant loss issue. The SUV has been losing coolant even while parked, and after spending money with a couple of less than honest mechanics, I’ve basically replaced the entire cooling system. Still, the coolant kept disappearing with no visible leaks or puddles on the ground. I normally handle most of my own maintenance, but lately I’ve been short on time and had to rely on a shop. Even then, I always suspected the problem might be internal — possibly the engine block gasket. When I came across this ZEAJSRU Engine Compression Test Kit, I figured it was time to verify things myself. The kit worked exactly as advertised. Once connected, the gauge showed the compression slowly dropping, confirming that something inside the engine isn’t sealing the way it should. Unfortunately, that can point to several internal issues, and now I’m at the crossroads of deciding whether to keep investing in repairs or just sell the vehicle. The tool did its job: it gave me clear, repeatable results and helped me finally understand what’s going on under the hood. If you work on small engines or do your own automotive maintenance, a compression tester is one of those tools you don’t need often — but when you do, accuracy matters. This kit delivers exactly that: quick, repeatable readings and a setup that feels built for both DIY users and working mechanics. The tester pressurizes quickly and gives stable readings without the needle bounce you see in cheaper gauges. It’s ideal for diagnosing worn piston rings, leaky valves, or early head gasket issues. On my test engine, the gauge responded instantly and held pressure long enough to document each cylinder without rushing. The 3-inch dial is genuinely easy to read. The dual color PSI/Bar scale is cleanly printed and doesn’t feel cluttered. The pressure relief valve is placed well — you can reset the gauge with one hand. Compatibility: This kit works with most gasoline engines: cars, motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, lawn equipment, and small power tools. The manufacturer is clear that it’s not intended for most diesel engines or engines with more than six cylinders, and that’s an important compatibility note for buyers. You get: • Four threaded adapters (M10, M12, M14, M18) • Two rubber cone ends for quick push in testing • A 14-inch flexible extension hose that makes awkward spark plug angles much easier The threads seat cleanly, and the rubber cones are firm enough to seal without slipping. The hose flexibility is especially helpful on cramped motorcycle heads. The hard shell case is compact, rigid, and keeps every adapter in its own slot. Nothing rattles around, and it’s easy to toss into a toolbox without losing pieces — a small but meaningful detail for anyone who’s misplaced adapters before. For the price, this kit offers excellent utility: accurate readings, a clear gauge, and a complete set of adapters that cover nearly all common gasoline engines. It’s not a professional shop-grade tester, but it performs far above typical budget kits and is more than reliable enough for routine diagnostics. Strong value for DIY mechanics and small-engine troubleshooters. ... show more

  • Very handy tool!
Model: Black-8PC
This really is a very handy thing to have in your toolbox! Verifying the compression of your engine will let you know in most cases if it's viable or necessary to tear down the engine to repair it. Not having compression will at least tell you that at a minimum you will need to tear down the engine to repair it, and having compression will tell you that whatever problem you have probably won't require a full rebuild, so it can really help you to assess the viability of repairs. This kit is pretty well equipped and has enough fittings to allow you to test compression on almost any engine, from a weed eater to a V12 or anything in between!! The quality of the parts is pretty good too, the adapters all fit snugly and seem to seal nicely with the pre installed o-rings. And it comes in a little plastic hard case that keeps everything protected and together. As for value, I think it's well worth the price, and can save you a lot of time, money, and effort! Would buy again! As always if I encounter any issues or think of anything else to add I'll update this review! ... show more

  • A Must-Have Diagnostic Tool for Every Garage! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Model: Black-8PC
Why This Kit Is Exceptional: Universal Compatibility: The four included brass adapters (M10, M12, M14, M18) covered everything in my garage, from my motorcycle and lawn mower to my daily driver. Dual-Scale Precision: The 3-inch gauge is very easy to read with its 0-300 PSI and 0-20 Bar scales. The dual-color coding makes it simple to get a quick "health check" on your cylinders at a glance. Smart Design Features: I really appreciated the side pressure release button, which allows you to run multiple tests quickly without disconnecting everything. The rubberized gauge protector also gives it a rugged feel that can handle a few bumps on the shop floor. Convenient Quick-Checks: For engines where you don't want to thread a fitting in, the straight and curved rubber cone ends are perfect. You just press them into the spark plug hole and crank—ideal for a fast diagnostic. Organized Storage: Everything fits securely into the molded carrying case, so you aren't hunting for small adapters when you're in the middle of a job. ... show more

  • Accurate, Durable, and Easy to Use Compression Tester
Model: Black-8PC
This compression tester from ZEAJSRU is an excellent tool for both professional mechanics and DIYers who need accurate and reliable readings on gas engines of all sizes. The gauge is very easy to read thanks to the dual color PSI/BAR scale, ranging from 0–300 PSI and 0–21 bar. I really appreciate the rubber protective housing around the gauge. It adds durability and peace of mind, especially for someone like me who is known to set tools down where they might get bumped, stepped on, or knocked off a bench. The quick connect system is another great feature. It allows for fast and easy attachment changes without the hassle of constantly screwing and unscrewing fittings, saving both time and frustration. The included 14-inch extension hose makes it much easier to reach awkward or tight engine locations while still being able to comfortably hold and read the gauge. I often pick up tools to help me evaluate engines before buying them, and this compression tester has been very helpful in identifying weak compression ahead of time. The release valve is conveniently placed and easy to press, and the gauge holds its reading reliably without any pressure loss from leaking connections. When finished, everything stores neatly in the included durable case, making it easy to transport and ensuring no parts get lost or damaged. Overall, this is a well made, dependable tool that I would confidently recommend. ... show more

  • Compact kit for occasional use
Model: Black-8PC
This is a nice compact kit to have if you work on engines and need to test them occasionally. The price is good at around $17. If I were to design this kit, the one thing I would change is to make the coupler fit a standard industrial air fitting. That would make this kit even more universal and offer more hookup options. Other than that, it works well and has several adapters to fit different spark plug holes. On another note, the case comes with a picture of what is inside on the outside. I wish more blow molded boxes came that way. Instead, they don't, and I have to open every box just to find what I'm looking for. ... show more

  • And affordable starter compression tester, decent design, could use longer adapters.
Model: Black-8PC
This is an affordable compression tester, in a small kit, that’s good for the budget range of lower income people to get started if you need to check or repair an engine. This is mostly well-made, although there are a few things that could be improved, and a couple of annoyances. Pros: • The dial is big, easy to read in both psi, and Bar pressure scales. • this has both screw in adapters, as well as a couple extensions with rubber on them to squeeze into unusual sized spark plug holes. So that gives a lot of flexibility, and functionality. • The quick connect hose extension, is useful to getting into harder to reach areas. • The pack is small and fits in many tool chests. Cons: • it would be nice if the screw and adapters were longer, and had both knurled finger grips, as well farther out hexagon bolt spots, so you could both finger it in, and wrench in the screw in adapters. (Note, one is a hex bolt, and the other three are Knurled hand fittings) • The pressure relief valve on the dial that I got was not built very well and it sort of scratches itself when you go press it in and out, and it’s not a smooth function. • The directions are poorly written, with some confusing wording, misspellings, and a lot of words that are missing spaces between them. Those directions need a rewrite in future versions. Also those directions are just sort of crumpled up inside the container, which is annoying. • The hose extension while useful, does not fit to the long metal pieces with rubber on them that you squeeze into a spark plug hole, and it would be nice if they were designed to do that as well. Suggestion: • it would be nice if this also came with extra O-rings for around all the screws and parts that use them, as those are likely to wear out. This is fairly well-made, and useful for those of us who just need something to get started on testing out their car or lawnmower, snowmachine, or other small engine. But the design could be improved in future versions to be a bit better. But I’m OK with this purchase for the price,. ... show more
