After my son returned home from being gone for a week, he found a receptacle that had caught on fire, and had caused an implosion in the television set. As a result, we went through every receptacle and switch in the house to make sure nothing like this would ever happen again. These receptacles worked well. Interestingly, an electrician told us it would cost $20,000 to repair all the switches and receptacles, but it only cost us about $120 to replace everything. One thing that we learned was that a surge is not circuit dependent, and that a true surge damages many, if not all, circuits, and other local residences electrical systems as well. Got exactly what I ordered: solid outlets, right number, no defectives. But the box they came in was loose and open, so a couple of the outlets were just sliding around in the Amazon box, which could have resulted in damage if I was unlucky
