I live in an extremely humid environment. This dehumidifier works great and really takes the moisture out of the air. It is super easy to use and is a quality product. It is not too bulky and is actually pretty quiet. I can even leave it on while I sleep.

Style: 1,500 Sq.Ft with Carbon Filter
I dont know what the people who rated this low are talking about. I'm going to chalk it up to one of two things: either they unfortunately got a lemon, or it's operator error and they are not using it correctly. First of all, it says it can handle 1500sq ft, but realistically it's about half that. And that is what you should keep in mind for ALL dehumidifiers except for those name brand, cost you your whole paycheck ones. Those DO work for the space they say. Keep that in mind and you won't be disappointed. Anyway, I have it set up in my bedroom, where I get a lot of condensation on the windows and it starts to cause problems with mold and mildew. I turned this baby on, set the fan to High, set the unit to run continuously ( the manual says to do so for the first day upon initial use), set the desired RH to 60% and let it go. Within 7 hours, the humidity had gone down to 61% ( and you could totally tell the difference in the air feel) and the reservoir was FULL, the unit shut off and indicated that it needs to be emptied. Emptied it, it kicked back on, I went to bed, woke up, and it was full again! And......and......not a DROP of condensation on my bedroom windows!! And like I said, you could feel it in the air, it was noticeablely drier and more comfortable and fresh. This dehumidifier works like a beast!! Quality overall is excellent. The unit isn't that large, you can see that in the product dimensions, but man is it heavy! It just feels solid and very well made. It also is SUPER easy to use and could even be figured out if you didn't have a manual! Just a word of advice though, if you set up the automatic drain hose people, you need to have whatever your draining it into LOWER than the drain port on the unit, because after all, it relies on gravity to drain, not a pump, and last time I checked, correct me if I'm wrong, gravity pulls things down, not push them up!! Great unit and I will actually be buying a second unit to use for my other bedroom! ... show more

I first received a unit marked “reconditioned” which had an odd sound at lower speed. It worked fine but was noisy. I requested a replacement which the company immediately sent me that was also marked “reconditioned”. It also made the same noise but worked just fine. I kept the second unit and it’s working very well at extracting the humidity in a downstairs closet. It has about a quart size bucket that requires emptying once a day, however it can be routed to drain elsewhere if possible. I bought the Amazon extended warranty just in case I have issues down the road. ... show more

    • Auto defrost malfunctions

I’ve had this dehumidifier just over a year (manufacturers warranty is 12 months) and it worked great during that year. The unit is quiet, efficient, and removes adequate moisture from the space it’s in. I keep the filters cleaned regularly. Recently though, I noticed it wasn’t dehumidifying well. I removed the filter covers to expose the rear coils to find a block of ice. I thought it was a fluke at first but it continues to happen routinely to the point it isn’t effectively dehumidifying and is just freezing up. The compressor and fan still work fine but it will no longer automatically defrost. Once ice builds up on the coils and air can’t circulate, it’s useless. Thankfully, knowing the state of manufacturing in the world today and lack of quality products, I purchased the Amazon extended warranty which was well worth it in this case. Buyer beware. Update 12/7/24, I’m on my 2nd machine after the first was replaced under extended warranty. This current machine has started to malfunction with the exact same issues as the first machine. I’m just at around the 8 month mark of use. These are basically foreign made cheap refrigeration junk. Unfortunately, even though there may be different name brands, most of these units all have the same components. Also, unfortunately, being in a “tiny house” I have to stick with this size of a unit as I don’t have space for a larger dehumidifier that might be used in a basement setting. I’ll attempt to contact the seller to replace the current unit as it’s been less than a year and should still be under the manufacturer warranty. Update 12/17/24: Never had a response from manufacturer. I called Amazon who initially just kept saying I need to try reaching the manufacturer to resolve the issue. When I pointed out the fact Amazon allows a company with this sort of business practice to sell to its consumers, then they (Amazon) themselves do nothing to rectify the issue, that is basically telling the consumer we don’t care about you but we want you to keep buying our junk. Amazon ended up allowing me to return the item for a refund, minus a restocking fee which I fought about since I’m returning a non functioning product it should be “restocked” in the trash; they gave me Amazon credit for the restocking fee. I also got refunded the cost of the extended warranty which couldn’t have been used. ... show more

I needed a powerful dehumidifier. This is it! I bought a stainless steel garden house and this thing pumps a lot of water out of the air. I'm not sure about the people that had trouble hooking a garden hose up to for drainage, ha. I have a big house so I just leave this unit on continuous mode. The air filter is very easy to access and I actually prefer the way it is set up over any other dehumidifier I've used. My only complaint is the noise. It's not really loud and is a bit quieter on low. With a unit this powerful it wouldn't be possibly to get anything quieter at this price point. ... show more
