I wanted to get this projector as a gift for a friend so I wanted to test it out to make sure it worked well before boxing it back up and wrapping it. I have quite a few projectors myself that I use for gaming and media so I'm no stranger to what makes a good projector. Here's a list of pros and cons I've found with this model. Pros: - 720p native resolution (will downscale 1080p content though) - Plenty bright enough even in a moderately lit room, for best results turn off lights - Focus is sharp even up to an 85" image, easy to adjust wheel - Throw size/distance ratio is very good, at ~6 feet away this project can fill a large wall with a nearly 100" image - Offset image so you can place it on a table and it'll project slightly upwards to eye level - Keystone adjustment works well to make image square when not projected straight onto wall - Colors are vibrant and clear after a little adjustment in the menu for an LCD projector (not quite as good as dlp but also much cheaper) - Remote works very well not even having to point at projector - Good selection of video inputs (wifi/wireless (both android and iphone), hdmi x2, av composite, sd, usb) will basically work with anything you throw at it - Simple UI, even my tech illiterate parents could figure out how to use in a minute - Very good build quality, strong plastic and nice silicone to prevent skidding on surfaces. Also has 1/4" screw mount for ceiling mounting (software adjustment for image flipping/rotation as well as color/sharpness/etc) - Doubles as bluetooth speaker and has loud/good sound - Quiet, most of these lcd projectors tend to run loud and hot but the fans were surprising low and even running the unit for two hours made the outer plastic barely warm - Price, I've seen more expensive projectors in the $200+ price range perform worse than this but not many ~$100 projectors equal the performance Cons: - Wireless video broadcasting from android device is sometimes inconsistent. My tablet works great, but on my phone it occasionally stutters or drops the connection. - Wish the remote lit up or had glow in the dark buttons as it's hard to see what button you are pressing in the dark - Power cord not as long as it should be (extension cord is a must to not limit placement by outlet location) So would I recommend this projector for watching media, absolutely especially considering the price. Sure you can find cheaper lcd projectors either new or used but I can almost guarantee they will have worse performance or skimp out on features. And sure you can find better projectors but not anywhere near this price unless you buy used/without warranty. In the end I have no doubt my friend will get many hours of enjoyment out of the Emotn.

The plastic feels a bit cheap and the ‘keystone’ effect is accomplished physically, thereby making one part or the other of the screen out of focus but the speaker isn’t bad and there’s plenty of connectivity options for inputs and outputs. The speaker isn’t going to win any awards but can get louder than I typically listen to it and does not sound distorted even at max volume. The internal speaker would be best when rear projecting but it works well enough to watch with the projector behind you.

I'm sure it will work great once I figure out how to do it. I'm trying to project from my android phone. I used a type C to USB connector from my phone to the projector. It said I have to download an apk from somewhere. I found it but it's not on the app store. Can it be trusted? I don't know. I searched the reviews. Nothing about this. So instead of taking that risk, I tried an alternative way of projecting. It said to turn on your phones Wlan. I searched for that on my phone. Googled "how to" and went down the rabbit hole. All the directions and instructions on how to turn on the wlan don't show up on my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G. So, I will fight with it again tomorrow. The people who said it's super easy to connect must have used laptops or some other device. Or, as stated above..... I'm special in the wrong kind of way.

At this affordable price, this is a simple projector that made for a magical movie theatre like experience in our house. The on-board speaker was great, but we plugged it into our own portable speaker via the 3.5mm output so that we can enjoy an even better sound. We pointed this onto a white blank wall in our living room and the experience of a huge screen was unlike any other. I purchase things that works and works well, and this is one of those things!

This projector is overall satisfying at the price level for family use during weekend relaxation. The videos and images are clear with lights off, but the sound quality is just okay. I would prefer an external speaker for that. Running noise can be neglected, but a projector stand is needed to avoid picture distortion.

the projector is designed very well, and I use my laptop to connect to the projector, there are also dozens of languages that you can choose, you could always find the one you want. Last but not least, the speaker is good and the resolution is fine that it looks like a mini-cinema when you use it in your bedroom. The only problem is the working noise of the heat dissipation fan, but it's acceptable.
