Description

Prolong your tone with the same acoustic guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any Other string available. Unlike Other string brands, Elixir strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in Other Brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings. Anti-rust Plating on plain steel strings ensures longer tone life for the entire set. Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes? Premium by design, these acoustic strings constructed with 80/20 (80% copper, 20% zinc) bronze wrap wire boast a crisp, bright tone with an expressive, vibrant presence. Compared to our original POLYWEB Coating, The ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating allows a more traditionally textured, “uncoated” feel. For a slicker, gentler feel, try the original POLYWEB Coating on our 80/20 Bronze acoustic strings, which also feature a more robust and rounded tone. For more of a balance between bold and bright, our phosphor bronze acoustic guitar strings with NANOWEB Coating deliver full-bodied tone and sparkling high-end clarity alongside the same traditional feel as these 80/20 Bronze strings. Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone or feel is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir strings. For a more in-depth look at what makes our strings so special, scroll to the branded info further down the page. • Great strings!
Style: Medium (.013-.056) Size: 1-Pack
I been a professional musician for many decades, with literally thousands of performances over the years. That adds up to a LOT of guitar strings! I have probably tried just about every brand of guitar strings out there, and for my acoustic steel string guitars, Elixer 80/20 Bronze Nanoweb are always my first choice. They last a long time, definitely longer than uncoated strings, and they keep that “broken in” sound from about 10 minutes after being installed for a very long time. My hands seem to sweat a lot, and that can be very hard on strings. When I switched to Elixer Nanoweb strings several years ago, I immediately noticed how much better my guitars sounded over the life of the strings, and how much longer that fresh sound lasted. Besides sounding consistently good for a long time, I am probably spending less money on strings than I was when buying cheaper strings more often. ... show more

  • These strings are fabulous!
Style: Ex. Light (.010-.047) Size: 1-Pack
My guitar skills run somewhere between campfire guitarist and whatever is a little better than that. I play in spurts, so my guitar may hang on the wall for months at a time without playing, but the coating on the strings keeps them fresh for a very long time. I only have to change out every six to eight months. The guitar sounds really nice with them...a good full sound without being too bright. They stay in tune after a few initial stretches and re-tunes. The coatings also make them easy to play. They cost a little more than some sets, but I change them a lot less than I do with uncoated strings, so the extra cost is worth the trouble, IMO. ... show more

  • Smooth Tone and Lasting Durability – Elixir 6-String Guitar Strings are a Game Changer!
Style: Ex. Light (.010-.047) Size: 1-Pack
I’ve been using Elixir 6-string guitar strings for a few months now, and I’m truly impressed with the overall performance. As a musician, the quality of my strings is crucial to the sound and feel of my guitar, and these strings have exceeded my expectations in every way. Sound Quality: Right out of the package, these strings produce a bright, clear tone with great sustain. Whether I’m playing clean acoustic chords or rocking out on my electric guitar, the sound is consistent and rich. The clarity of each note is noticeably better than other strings I’ve used, and they hold their tone for a long time. Durability: The standout feature of Elixir strings is their durability. They last far longer than traditional strings without losing their crispness or becoming dull. I’ve been playing regularly, and the strings still feel fresh and responsive. The coating on the strings really helps protect against corrosion, dirt, and grime, which is a huge plus if you play often. ... show more

  • Amazing strings!
Style: Light (.012-.053) Size: 1-Pack
The sound is amazing on these strings! My one complaint is that my E string (the deeper one) broke while tuning. The rest were fine. It began to unravel? But beyond that, these strings are absolutely amazing and I will definitely order again for my other guitars :))

  • Better than the strings that were on it new…
Style: 8-String Baritone (.016-.070) Size: 1-Pack
I have used Elixir strings before. They always have a great feel and last a good long time. However, in my experience they have sounded great on some guitars and not so much on others. For example if your guitar has an inherently darker tone, (say an acoustic with mahogany back and sides) Elixer will brighten the tone up just a little bit to give a more full tone. But if you have some that is already bright Elixirs will, in my experience, push that brightness over the top. Between the enhanced silence and screechy high end it can be unbeatable. Now, in this case, I purchased a set for my 8-string baritone Guild. There are a few 8-string baris out there. Taylor, Guild, Ibanez, Alvarez, etc.. I can only speak about my experience with my Guild, which has been surprisingly very, very good. I had initially anticipated that the strings would be overly shimmery and too thin-toned for a baritone, but the opposite was true. These elixir strings actually really opened up the bottom end AND brightened the high B string enough to let it sing. The original strings really emphasized the octave A and D strings, these Elixirs are much better balanced. Now with 8-string baritone acoustics I have found that Elixir makes a set, D’Addario makes a set, and anything else would have to be a custom set made string by string, at least as far as i have been able to find. In my opinion, this Elixir set is the best option of them all. One caveat though is that they are sort of expensive but there are more strings, they are longer, and they are coated. So it all adds up on the end. ... show more

  • disappointed with shipping and handling but not the strings
Style: Medium (.013-.056) Size: 1-Pack
I opened the shipping box (unscathed) and the string box (pack of 3) was wrapped in some dubvious repackaging wrap and smashed. It looked like it had been previously opened so I had to individually check each string set for proper guage, condition, etc. They appear to be all there and in proper condition so that's all I can say on the matter of shipping and handling. I don't know the shelf life or how to tell if they are fresh. I've used these strings many times and appreciate the quality and sound on various Martins, Gibson, and Breedlove both unplugged and plugged-in to acoustic amps, etc. I'm not sure if the strings I use on a HD-28 would sound just as great on any guitar. I've found that individual guitars sound different and react to guage as well as materials used so I can't give you a guarantee that these are the best you can buy. I have found better sounding strings for each individual guitars I own, but these are great "general/overall" strings that sound great and do not need replacing near as often. I don't gig or teach. I play almost daily for at least a half-hour (if not 2 or 3) but I keep 4 guitars out of their case and handy so the more guitars I own and strung-up the less those strings get played. I try to keep a few sets on the shelf. They are dependable. If your in search of the best guitar strings, good luck, I've gone down that rabbit hole (been stuck at intermediate level for over 50 years) , and you'll find as I have that its like finding the best sounding acoustic guitar, your opinion of how something sounds matters not. ... show more
