Size: Neptune 3

Features

  • RSG Leveling SystemThe 16-point RSG leveling system with a strain gauge pressure sensor on the print head to record the distance between the nozzle and the hot bed at each point. Once the sensor scans any tiny variations and unevenness, it will automatically compensate each point by adjusting the Z-axis height to ensure the same distance between the print nozzles and the bed (about 0.1-0.2mm). And Neptune 3 comes with a larger build volume of 220x220x280mm than Neptune 2.
  • Reliable Extrusion SystemThe double-gear metal extruder is designed with a spring elasticity adjustment and a special titanium alloy throat pipe for smoother filament feeding and more stable & precise printing, greatly reducing the risk of nozzle clogging.
  • Ultra-Quiet PrintingXYZ axis adopts TMC2225 silent driver and E0 axis of TMC2209 silent driver, which ensures more stable and smooth movement at a whisper-quiet below 50dBA. V-guide roller made of POM for stable and accurate motion, quieter, wear-resistance, and longer life.
  • PEI Magnetic PlatformThe PEI spring steel magnetic platform with a special coating features anti-warping and high stickiness, and you can remove printed models merely by bending the steel sheet. With a filament sensor, whenever filament runs out, breaks, or gets clogged, printing will pause until you load the filament and resume.
  • Removable TouchscreenThe 4.3-inch removable full-color touch screen can be operated by hand-held or fixed on the base with an intuitive interface and step-by-step assistance, which is more convenient to operate and support multi-language freely switch.

  • Doesn't live up to the hype; Don't be a beta tester
*Elegoo is releasing the Pro version of the Neptune 3 any time now, with almost every complaint about the non-pro version addressed. This is extremely shady practice since everyone who bought the Neptune 3 was essentially a beta tester against their will.* My printer had build quality issues. One side of the gantry was out of square and had to be forced into place with a clamp so I could tighten down the screws holding in together. These screws, by the way, don't engage correctly with the frame of the printer. You can keep turning them forever and it never quite gets "all the way" tight. The spool arm is a pain to install. It doesn't help that the screws provided to install it were just a bit too long so that even when tightened down as far as they will go, the spool arm has significant wobble. I solved this by printing a 1mm thick spacer to wedge in between the arm and the gantry which was simple enough but it would have been simpler to just provide screws that are the correct length. I will say that assembly other that the above mentioned issues was very simple. The auto bed leveling feature is pretty hit or miss. I can never get the same mesh values, even when running two calibrations back to back and sometimes the printer acts like I never ran the calibration at all - my prints have about a 25% chance to fail on the first layer because the nozzle decides to do whatever it wants. The included SD card contains a single test print GCode file that works well enough, but the rest of the files seem corrupted. My PC was NOT happy when I plugged it in and threw up several red flags which didn't exactly put my mind at ease. A lot of youtubers and others in the 3D printing community seem to love this thing, but none of the reviews I've watched seem to mention the obvious flaws. I think since it's fairly inexpensive, it gets a pass for all of its faults, but there are better contenders in this price range. This is not a printer for beginners. You will have to do some tinkering, both hardware and software, to get this thing to work the way it should. If you want a printer that you can just plug in and use, this is not for you. ... show more

  • fell apart after 6 months. Do NOT purchase!!
worked just ok (there were several errors that i could adjust or have my friend adjust) for 6 months then started screwing up prints all the time, randomly. my 3d printing guru couldn't figure it out, we also consulted with her husband and the three of us couldn't figure out why it started screwing up all the time. We took the whole thing apart and still all the same problems. ALSO, the so-called 'auto leveling' never really worked. the bed was WAY off level and flat, like 2 mm between high and low points, but it still never auto leveled! i had overextrusion on one side of my prints and the bed being scraped on the other. there was one sweet spot where a small print could actually be printed, just a fluke, located at the front and slightly left of the bed. it started printing and then would stop extruding. it would not go through all 16 points of autolevel sometimes. there would be times when the print head wouldn't heat properly and the filament would become impossible to load and unload without disassembling the print head. i even bought two really good books on 3d printers and 3d printing and they were not much help with this particular printer. i'm going to have to buy another printer from my guru friend who will come and repair and adjust my printer and basically be my IT department for the printer. this way, she'll already have come across any errors i might get from her printer. Do not buy this printer!! ... show more

  • This thing is a beast
A little back story I got into 3D printing when we ver the summer when a friend gave me one of his old Anet A8’s and I had a terrible experience and immediately switch to resin 3D printing which and loved it. Recently a lot of things I wanted to print just would work with my resin printer and decided to get a FDM one aswell after a long debate in which one I decided to go with the Neptune 3 since I have had such great luck with Elegoo in resin printing. Received the Neptune 3 on Nov 2nd and after a firmware update(which is needed if you see bad reviews is probably because they didn’t update the firmware it was a night and day difference) this machine has run non stop for 2 weeks now and I mean nonstop only time it gets a break is when it finishes a print while I’m sleeping as I’m immediately have the next print going as soon as the last one finished and I can say I have already made my moneys worth. In the 2weeks I have only had 3 failed prints and all were my fault got greedy and did take the 5min to wash the build plate from time to time(every 10ish prints give or take seems to be the sweet spot) I would highly recommend this as anyones first printer as it only takes about 15min to build and another 5-10 to update firmware and then there is zero fiddling you are off to printing with great results ... show more
