Descaler
Actually, this is really helping a lot! I can’t believe how much better the water is! Have extremely hard water!! Toilets stay cleaner , sinks wipe out so much easier, even the bath water for the first time actually has bubbles in it!

Worth a try over the salt systems
Installing this water softener is not complicated, but it is a little bit time consuming with the coiling of the wires. Everything feels of decent quality and it seems to work fine. I've noticed that the water coming out of the pipes is a little bit less hard, and it's easier to clean off if done right away. If you let water sit though, it starts scaling again. For the low price compared to an expensive water salt system, I think it's worth trying out. ... show more

Easy to install
This is one of those products that takes time to tell if it works but I am hopeful. My pipes were a bit non-traditional with where I needed to install this but it still worked out well. The instructions were super easy to follow and it only took just a few minutes to get it setup. I admit that I did take the cover off before setting this up just so I could see what was inside the box and attached a picture for those that are curious. ... show more

Una opción económica.
Llegó tal y como se ve en la imagen, con instrucciones claras y material de instalación. Único inconveniente es que los tres cables son fijos. Hay que darle tiempo para ver resultados.

excited to try this out
We got this Electronic Water Descaler for Whole House, Reduces Limescale, Hard Water Conditioner System, Alternative No Salt Water Softener System because we have very harsh water conditions. It is high on most everything and we use a water softener and go through a lot of salt. We are hopeful that this will help keep our faucets and toilets cleaner. I will update after we have used it for a time. ... show more

Not convinced
Update: So all the time periods mentioned in the documentation have passed. I've not seen any real evidence this does anything except use electricity. I've unplugged it for now and will eventually unwind it from the pipe. I initially gave it the benefit of the doubt, but I'm not seeing anything that has convinced me that this has made any difference. Now if I leave it disconnected and notice a ton of scaling build up, then I'd be convince. But as it stands now, this is a bust. After doing some reading on these devices, thought what the heck, let's give it a try. Installation is simple and straightforward, hardest part was keeping the coil wrapped around the pipes. Prior to installation, I followed the enclosed document and checked the local water report for water hardness and that was not going to be an issue. I like in a suburb of Chicago so get water from Lake Michigan. It is important to understand the direction the water is flowing in your pipes as that will determine how you wrap the red and blue coils on the pipe. Another consideration is the availability of an outlet to plug this units power cord into. The cord has a good length and I was able to run the cord up and behind the water heater and over towards my furnace to plug it in. The included sheet says it's 16 feet, I'm not really sure that's right but I honestly did not measure it. I actually just went to check and not shown in my pictures after installation, I do have it coiled with extra length and it's a narrow wire so possibly 16 feet. I do suggest having the ties nearby when installing and wrapping the coils. I made the mistake of having them just our of reach initially and as I went to get one, the coil loosened up and I had to retighten it. Not the end of the world, but a bit of a pain and extra work. My hope was that we could avoid scaling residue on faucets, toilets, dishes and whatever. I had previously flushed my hot water tank and it's newer so nothing really noticeable to begin with. But our faucets throughout the house (except the master bathroom that was recently remodeled) have been here for some time. I tried to clean our kitchen faucet that had some build up but that's been there for years and since it's on the underside and out of sight, I was surprised at how badly the scum build up was! I cleaned it up best I could and did the same for the faucets in the powder room and hallway bathroom. I wanted to try to see a change as much as possible. The included sheet gives and "Observation Timetable" that I was using to help with this review. I wanted to see if we hit those dates and notice what we were supposed to notice. First thing is a soap lather difference but I can't say I really noticed any change. After a week, the scale is supposed to break down but not really noticeable to the naked eye so couldn't really tell you if that worked or not. We've passed the two week mark recently and scale on showerheads and faucets should be observed. This is a bit hard to tell, it also says soap/detergent needed should be significantly reduced but again we use a dishwasher and we haven't really reduced what we normally use since it's pre-measured. It hasn't been a full month yet, but in about a week we will. Scale is supposed to be significantly reduced and heating water more efficient. I'm not sure if it's due to cold weather now or if this is actually working, but the hot water does seem to take less time to flow through. When hand washing dishes, I no longer leave the setting all the way up for hot water because it's too hot after a short while. So my scale hasn't vanished completely yet, but there is a note that says the age of scaling and hardness of water may cause it to linger for up to 12 weeks (3 months). So I am hoping to see those results and will update (if I remember) when that occurs in February of 2025. And if I see these changes, I will be one very happy owner! Lastly, there is a note that his is NOT a water softener and does not remove calcium or magnesium from the water. So keep that in mind and consideration when you are deciding what you need. ... show more

It's hard to verify success so far.
This electric whle house water descaler by SWEthSU is supposed to reduce limescale and condition against hard water. It was very simple to install.
