In order for product to start you have to apply quite of bit of pressure. This can be difficult depending on your age. Once it starts this is very easy to use. I had to try several times on some jars before vacuum with start.

Where has this been in my past canning life? I use this for canning dry mixtures for nearly everything that I buy in bulk.

I don't have the experience or space for canning foods but when I make a big pot of soup or oatmeal for breakfasts, I like to store some in the fridge or freezer for another day. Usually, I have to eat the foods within 2 days or they go bad. This sealer works really good for both large and regular sized canning lids. I especially like making 5 days' worth of overnight oats, seal them up and keep them in the fridge for a week. They taste just as good 5 days later.
