I began storing foods in ball jars and decided to try the electric vacuum sealing machine to remove excess air in the jar as air (aka oxygen) spoils foods. This vacuum sealer is excellent and I've noticed my refrigerated foods last longer. The amount of foods saved made this device an excellent value. It's simple to use too.

works with WIDE mouth very good. Regular lids are difficult and often pop off after a couple of days. Ive tried multiple lids and jars of the regular size and all seem to have the same results.

If you are on your preserving journey this is a must have for the everyday dry goods. It is very easy to use and fits wide mouth jars effortlessly. I used it this weekend to store my dry goods like beans and pasta in jars. worked great. I think this will be something I buy as Christmas gifts to family that I know will love it as much as I do.
