  • Very nice senior tricycle
Color: ‎Yellow
It came in a new undamaged condition, 10 days after ordering via FedEx (NJ to WA). Very nice quality and stout frame. It is mostly preassembled, but plan on a couple of hours or more. The manual is in english... but uses noun names that don't seem correct. The pictures help. The manual says to put the stout back bin on before the battery (video is opposite). I had to loosen the bin because it interfered with sliding on the battery. Now that the bin is moved a quarter inch, the battery can properly go on and off. If the ball of my foot is at pedal center, then my heels hit the back bin. I have to have my foot center at the pedal center for my US#10 shoes. The handlebar is close to you, which may be good for seniors. The front wheel didn't quite align with the handlebars, but there is an easy adjustment screw facing up that you see if you unclamp and pivot over the steering upright shaft. There are two different keys. The key on the battery is only to keep the battery from being stolen. I tried to center the disc brake calipers while loosening highest and lowest hexkey screws that face backwards on calipers (fiddly). I wasn't able to adjust cable barrels to get tighter cable (better brake feel) due to some wobble in discs. There is no mode button. To pedal only, keep handlebar "ignition" key off. To have assist only, turn key on and use grip throttle (and use 1,2,3 button for level). 1=10km/h, 2=16km/h, 3=22km/h. For hybrid, do same as assist only, but also pedal. A problem is that the assist is too much when pedaling on "1" with no throttle (10km/h), and lags (keeps going) after you stop pedaling. To go slow, you can't pedal or you need to stop pedaling early (and be ready with hand brakes). You can't really go slower than 10km/h if key is on (without brakes). The throttle doesn't seem to work if pedaling with key on (you are going to go 10 or 16 or 22). This is not good if you are very elderly with some mind slowing dementia. The pedaling is single gear, so only aids in #1 (you would have to pedal superfast in #2). Tricycles are good in their way, but I wouldn't recommend an elderly person to use it on any sidehill at all. I tried our steep gravel driveway. Going up 7% grade or less works, but with steeper, the front driven wheel spins out (even with leaning way forward and trying to pedal (which can spin the rear tires)). I had to walk the tricycle up our 11+% gravel slope (the FedEx truck couldn't make it up either). The trike weighs 70Lbs with battery, less back kiddie seat. To put in car, fold back at central frame pivot clamp, and pivot down vertical steering column. Take out saddle. Lift into car sideways. I could "easily" do this alone (I am 62 and 162Lbs). Edit: You can go any speed you want very controllably with right grip throttle, even just creeping slow (up to max governed speed for that setting (1=6mph, 2=10mph, 3=14mph)), IF you don't pedal. If you pedal even just a little bit, it will zoom up to max governed speed. Applying brake levers stops the battery assist, or some seconds of no pedaling (and no hand throttle) will let you slow down from full governed speed. To mount rear brake light, red light is up highest and empty license plate holding bracket hangs down. Then tie wrap cable along luggage rack frame. ... show more

  • I'm not sure on the copyright so I'm not taking photos. The instruction book is unintelligible.
Color: ‎Yellow
I don't mean to rip on foreign instruction manuals, but a chimpanzee would have a better chance at putting this trike together. Three adults couldn't do it. Blurry photography and improper grammar. In the advertisement they made it sound like you unfold it, pop on a seat and you were off to the races. NOTHING could be further from the truth. I even got a bag of parts prior to receiving the bike requesting I use those vs the ones that came with trike. And it weights a ton, I don't think most grown men or women would be able to lift it into their trunk. Total waste of money, I'll be fighting for a refund and making every effort to just put it in the trash vs shipping it back. ... show more

  • Great product for the price. trouble shooting guide needs to be expanded!
Color: ‎Yellow
EBike troubleshooting: To better understand and solve the problem, please provide the feedback problem photos or videos (such as error codes), we will analyze the problem and provide a solution. Please email us at this address: [email protected] Fortunately Ruigen Electronics sent me these Dashboard Common Error Codes: 0 Normal status 2 Brake fault 6 Battery undervoltage 7 Motor Failure 8 Handlebar fault 9 Controller fault I had error code E7 which is briefly describe as “ motor failure.” Fortunately they told me to Check the cabling to the motor. They also gave me two diagrams highlighting where the cable and the connector is located. Then I discovered there is an arrow on each half of the connector to show the proper orientation of the connector. The arrows are very difficult to see. So I lined up the arrows and I still got error code 7. I found out I must push the connectors together with greater force. That turned off the error code, and allowed the electric drive to function properly. My conclusion is the instruction part of the Manual was insufficient, and the troubleshooting section of the manual is grossly insufficient. Each of the error codes should be expanded with diagrams and other explanations like they did for error code 7 I would gladly give the rating of five star if those two problems were addressed properly. The quality of all the manufactured parts could not be better. Manually peddling works great. All Electric works great. The proportional mode is hardly usable. Even so I’m keeping the bike because it is an excellent bike for the price. ... show more

  • Great except the bent derailleur jockey wheels
Color: ‎Yellow
So far it's been moving well when using pure electric/battery. With the assembly, I think the hardest part was straightening the main frame. It seems that that part/joint was very "stiff" when trying to straighten it. Took a while to do it correctly. Would have been nice if there were close up portions of the how-to video. But other than that, the main issue I had was with the chains coming off the chain ring when peddaling. I think it's because of the bent derailleur jockey wheels (see pics) which is causing some misalignment with the chain. Waiting to hear from the seller to see what could be done to resolve the issue. Will update the star rating if hear from them. ... show more
