11KW heater- Using to heat a small pond. Heat reading can change to Fahrenheit, set point goes down to 60F. The temp reading is off by 6F While unit is running, gets within 3F to real temp when unit shuts off. Nameplate on heater states needs 25 GPM supposably to work but other info states 15 GPM. My pump is 25 GPM and the temperature rise on outlet is 4F, at 65F water. If I restrict flow than outputs 80F water, i think Im going to install a valve to restrict flow so output temperature is warm. So maybe the valve will bring flow rate down to 15 GPM or so & give me 80F water out at around 65F water going in. This heater is pulling 53 AMPs which is more than the 50 amps stated it will pull. I wish the heater had a 30 sec or 1 min time delay, manual says supposedly there is a 5 secs. The temperature reading jump around at setpoint causes the heater contactor to chatter ON / OFF repeatedly. I may have to wire a time delay for my application. Maybe for pool regular piping the temp wont jump around.
