This is one heck of a good heater. Puts out an amazing amount of heat. Heats up very fast and is silent unless it is oscillating and even then you have to put your ear very close to it to hear anything. I have always prefered infrared heat over all the others because it heats up objects and doesn't just blow heated air. Not that heated air is a bad thing. I just prefer one over the other. There is no fan in this heater, just like almost every other infrared heater, It's not needed. It is extremely well made with a nearly flawless fit and finish on everything. Lots of useful features like a timer and adjustable heat. Comes with a remote control and a protecive metal loop that attaches near the top with 4 screws. They don't show that in any of their pictures or mention it in the description but it is in the manual and you can see it in my pictures. I assume it is for protection if the heater falls over while it is on. I could easily see carpet or whatever catching fire if it makes contact with the element while it is still red hot. I think it's a good and sensible feature. It does have a tip over protection feature but takes more than a couple of seconds to cool off enough to be (mostly) safe where it only takes one second to fall and hit something. Safety first, right? The room I tested this in is on a 15 amp breaker. There are two 40 watt (actual - not equivalent) led lights and a UPS that is trickle charging a fully charged battery pack in there. Maybe a 15 watt draw on that. I have been using run of the mill 1500 watt heaters in that room for years without a single problem. Ten minutes into testing this heater on full blast ... and the breaker popped. Totally surprised me. That breaker should never trip with only a 1600 watt load on it. Normally, a 15 amp breaker will easily handle 1800-1900 watts with no problem. And yet - I had a problem. This leads me to believe that this heater is drawing more than 1500 watts. I have not done an actual measurement on it (yet) but I intend to. This was a very odd occurance and I intend to find out what happened. Needless to say, I will not be using this heater on a 15 amp breaker again. I strongly urge others to only use this heater on a circuit rated for 20 amps and using a 20 amp breaker. I did move the heater to different room that does have a 20 amp breaker and it works perfectly. No tripped breakers. Now that I'm done picking nits, I consider this to be one of the top two 1500 watt (???) 120v electric heaters I have ever owned. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? I sure think so. **UPDATE** Received this 11/14/23, & today 11/26/23 it broke. It was on & running & all of a sudden it turned off. I thought maybe it blew a breaker or fuse but no. Outlet worked for other things & heater wouldn't turn on when plugged into other outlets. I reached out to the company so we'll see how they fix this. I loved this heater up until now. I will update this review after I hear from the company. This is a game changer for heaters!! This heater is quiet & puts out great heat!! Great quality!! Comes with a remote which is nice! Very easy to use too! Im using it inside right now but I plan to use it on my deck as well. Heats up my large room quickly with a nice even heat. I love that it oscillates!! The Airvention heater is simple to operate and heats fast. The heat output from this little unit is excellent. It comes with the hardware required to mount and operate the heater and installation is fairly simple. There are two brackets and the screws to mount to a wall or wherever the heater is needed. It is waterproof so can be used outdoors or anywhere where there is a chance of moisture coming in contact with it. This heater operates with a remote control, and I don't believe that there is any way to use the heater without it, which is my only concern. Sometimes remotes get misplaced or go missing so it would have been a good backup option to have an on/off button on the heater itself. Essentially, the button that exists on the heater turns power on and puts the heater into standby mode, with a red light flashing on the front panel to tell you so. When you press the power button on the remote the red light stops flashing and stays solid showing ready to use. Pressing the P1 button turns on the heater element. Heat output is fast. Everything else about this heater is great. I got it for the garage to provide heat to our home gym. In the winter it gets too cold to comfortably work out properly, so this heater offers a good solution. We've used various heaters but this one works much better for this particular situation, providing fast localized heat. This heater just seems much more efficient. I have not mounted it yet, but it's been working well just placed on a small table. When it is on this heater is practically silent. The housing also does not get hot except for the front grill area so it seems safe to operate whether mounted on a wall on placed on a table, the floor, etc. You can touch any other part of this heater when it is on other than the front where the carbon fiber tube is located. The heater is a bit more expensive than the typical fanned air electric heater, but it does work much better, in my opinion. It is also more versatile and can be used just about anywhere, even outdoors such as a porch or patio. Overall, I give this a four-star rating but only because there is no hard switch to turn it on and if you misplace the remote control, you can't operate it. I was surprised at how well this heated up our patio in the late fall. It got hot quickly and was easy to bring inside and outside. The remote control is handy especially when the wind picks up for a while and it gets colder. Durable construction and easy setup.

    • Perfect for a deck

We built a deck over the summer and I love it, but I don't love being cold. This heater is the perfect solution. First, please read the directions. Maybe it's just me, but I did not find the controls to be intuitive. For instance, the on/off switch is at the bottom of the base on the back of the unit. Kind of like a vacuum cleaner. Then you press the button on top, let it heat up and scroll to your preferred setting. Not hard by any means, but I was driven to the directions to make sense of it. I also couldn't get the guard on correctly. The holes on the side of the unit don't seem to be drilled very well. We don't have small children so this isn't a big issue. The heater produces great heat and with the remote, is easy to adjust. I absolutely love it! ... show more
