    • I love the rectangle shape of this over the typical round dehydrator
I have had round shaped countertop dehydrator's before and they work as intended. Mine finally gave up and I purchased a rectangle shaped on last year. I love that thing. The shape makes it easier to store when not in use. With that being said, the opportunity to get another one for all the items we use a dehydrator for came up and I got this one as well. They are great for making your own beef jerky and, I personally use mine for when I am doing cookie decorating and using royal icing of the cookies. It helps the icing drying faster and leaves the icing with a glossy top, as opposed to the dull one you get if you just dry the cookies on the counter by air.     • Nice size for two
I am happy with the size of this dehydratior. I have had one in the past that was just too big. It's size is great for our needs. I made beef jerky in it and it worked perfectly. The controls are basic and not complicated. It's also quiet. The only down side is that the trays only fit inside each other in a certain direction. So, it's not like you can just stack them without thinking about it, but I didn't find that to be anything more than annoying for a minute or two. This cleans up well too. ... show more

We are very happy with this dehydrator - it's a big step up from the one we had before. I especially like that you can choose the drying temperature. It has 8 trays that are BPA-free and food-grade so I can be confident that I'm not drying my fruit on toxic plastic or metals. The only thing that I don't like is that it's smaller than what I was expecting. However, that's my fault for mistaking cm for inches in the description. The media could not be loaded. So I’d love to give this a review, but mine doesn’t work, like at all. At first when it didn’t make any noise I thought maybe it was just uber quiet appliance, but the fan isn’t even moving and nothing is heating up. This is great for beginners! I tried this for the first time last night and dehydrated some fresh mango into a fruit leather. It’s quiet, easy to use, and has plenty of racks for drying. It heats up, but only slightly. I’m now experimenting to see if I can dehydrate eggs (on a shallow flat tray) that can be preserved and later reconstituted. ... show more

The design and quality of the dehydrator is good, but the user manual needs some work. It feels like the manual was run through a translator. English translation is poor. However you can figure it out with some thought. Expect to have to Google some things. The manual gives recommend dry times for a large group of foods BUT...it does not tell you the recommended temperature to use. You can very the temperature between 95 and 167° F.     • So far it's great
I had a different dehydrator years ago that had some fatal flaws that caused it to melt it's racks and ruin it. I jumped at the chance to try this new, affordable one in it's place. So far I've only made apple chips, but they came out perfectly! I'm very excited to try making other things.

I'll update this review after I play with it more, but so far this dehydrater is great! W/o even plugging it in, it's great for drying seeds, and I have sweet potatoes in it now for sweet potatoe fries. It's a good size but very compact. It came with a power cord, plug, and two rubbery liners.
