  • Best thing we’ve bought for our RV
Size: 100LBS/CUBE ICE
This little machine makes ice so fast. It says 40 pound capacity when full but is closer to 20. But it makes that in about 3-4 hours. I keep a large ice chest next to it to dump three or four times a day. I keep it outside the RV in the Texas sun and use the ice even when home. If it were inside, it would make more. We’ve had the machine for 4 months and the only thing I have had to do is clean it and remove the tube and soak it in vinegar to remove scale from the small holes that distribute the water evenly. But that is very easy. Just pull off supply tube and slide it up and out. Then just line it up, slide it back in after de-scaling, and slide the supply hose back on. The only other thing is to make sure the machine is level so water distributes evenly. As others have stated, it makes sheets of ice cubes. This is not a problem for me as it only takes a dull knife to break up. The ice breaks up on its own when it drops into the empty hopper. The sheets occur closer to the top. ... show more

  • Great machine. Instructions need work
Size: 100LBS/CUBE ICE
This thing is great for its size. The first day I was giving bags of ice to my neighbors. I’m very happy. I think the instructions were written by the engineer who created this machine. You have to read each step several times to get into this guys way of thinking. I also think he’s didn't speak English and had someone translate. Words were used that only an engineer would speak. A trip to your local hardware store will be a necessity. Overall, it’s great. TIP: get a dual compression valve to replace the supply (sink supply). That way you can run cold water to your sink and machine. You’ll also need to get a converter for the fitting they supply most likely ($8). It kicks off some heat also, to be expected.. it’s science! ... show more

  • Plenty ice for me
Size: 30LBS/RED
I am a disabled old lady and I live in a cheap. Retirement apt. Without an Ice maker and I like ice in my drinks, I drink lots of ice tea! This little ice maker is great for me. Makes plenty ice for me. If you have a big family or just use lots of ice you should probably look at a larger capacity machine. It is really easy to set up and use, the instructions included are good. Keep in mind that it does not keep ice frozen. You have to empty the basket as it builds up. They little scoop that comes with it is very handy for scooping the ice out. I put the ice in zip lock bags and it works out great! It requires a 3 prong grounded really receptacle. Overall I am very happy with this little ice maker! ... show more

  • Fun to Use
Size: 30LBS/BLACK
When we got a new refrigerator the ice maker wasn't included, and the kit that went to that model had terrible reviews. I decided to go with a countertop ice maker instead and got this one when it was on sale. So far, it works great. I waited 3 hours after unboxing to allow the oil to settle, cleaned the basket and wiped out the inside. After filling the compartment with water and turning it on, it spit out the first round of ice in around ten minutes. (I threw this first batch away just to be safe.) It was amazing to me how much ice I got for the amount of water I put in! Every couple of rounds of ice, I would empty the basket into a container in the freezer and did this until it was full. The ice did stick together some, but was pretty easy to break apart. Once it was finished, I emptied the remaining water from the ice machine (there's a plug on the bottom of the machine that you pull out to drain it into a bowl) and dried the inside. I plan on using this machine about every two days based on our current ice usage. I've seen some people saying they keep the machine going 24/7. I also see some people complaining about the machine dying in less than a year. I don't know for sure that those two things are related, but I imagine keeping it running constantly isn't the best idea. At the quick rate that it creates ice, I'm also not sure why you would do that. Keep making ice until you have the amount you need, then drain and dry it for next time. I imagine it will last far longer this way. I'll keep using it in this manner and update this review when it finally dies to let you know how long it lasted using this method. ... show more

  • Love having fresh ice
Size: 30LBS/BLACK
I have been looking at buying an ice maker for a while. Ice from the store melts on the way home, and sticks together. Also the ice goes stale after a while. I bought this table top ice maker and could not be happier. It produces fresh delicious ice on demand. Now I can add ice to my tea or lemonade, or just enjoy a nice glass of ice water. So far I have only used the small cubes. The ice takes 6-8 minutes to form. I get about 6 bullet sized pieces of ice at a time. I just let it go through a few cycles, and then harvest the ice. Extra ice goes into the freezer to be used later in the day. A few things you should know. First, you need to wash it out with soapy water before the first use. Second, you have to let the machine sit on a level surface for at least two hours to let the refrigerant gas inside to settle. (That’s the same reason why you never transport a refrigerator or freezer on its side). If you don’t wait, the machine will prematurely stop working. I washed mine and let it settle for 24 hours before the first use. Third, the ice maker is not a freezer. You need to remove the ice or it will soon melt. Fourth, this size is for personal use. Forget providing ice for a party etc. It just doesn’t make ice in large enough quantities. I think it would work for a family, provided people didn’t mind a little wait. Also, I think you could easily set one of these up at your office at work, as it is small and compact. Finally, I am using bottled water to make my ice. I find that the ice tastes better and I don’t have to worry about hard water deposits in my machine. ... show more

  • Good for me
Size: 30LBS/BLACK
I followed the instructions and let mine sit overnight before trying it out. The price was right. No ice maker in my freezer and recent surgery made it almost impossible to fill ice trays so I othered this one because of price and reviews: The smaller size was what I needed. Some reviews said it was noisy but it did not seem so to me. More quiet than a dishwasher. The bullets hold water in their centers so I shake the basket before putting them in a big ziplock but they still do stick together so have to bang the bag on the counter top. Would advise using a special ice bag that I have seen online but did not purchase. So far I am happy with product. ... show more
