I have been looking at buying an ice maker for a while. Ice from the store melts on the way home, and sticks together. Also the ice goes stale after a while. I bought this table top ice maker and could not be happier. It produces fresh delicious ice on demand. Now I can add ice to my tea or lemonade, or just enjoy a nice glass of ice water. So far I have only used the small cubes. The ice takes 6-8 minutes to form. I get about 6 bullet sized pieces of ice at a time. I just let it go through a few cycles, and then harvest the ice. Extra ice goes into the freezer to be used later in the day. A few things you should know. First, you need to wash it out with soapy water before the first use. Second, you have to let the machine sit on a level surface for at least two hours to let the refrigerant gas inside to settle. (That’s the same reason why you never transport a refrigerator or freezer on its side). If you don’t wait, the machine will prematurely stop working. I washed mine and let it settle for 24 hours before the first use. Third, the ice maker is not a freezer. You need to remove the ice or it will soon melt. Fourth, this size is for personal use. Forget providing ice for a party etc. It just doesn’t make ice in large enough quantities. I think it would work for a family, provided people didn’t mind a little wait. Also, I think you could easily set one of these up at your office at work, as it is small and compact. Finally, I am using bottled water to make my ice. I find that the ice tastes better and I don’t have to worry about hard water deposits in my machine. ... show more

I recently purchased this outdoor ice maker, and overall, I am quite satisfied with its performance. The ice maker is of good quality and is perfect for small spaces like under the bar. The size of the ice cubes is just right, providing a refreshing and enjoyable ice experience. However, I did notice that the ice machine doesn't keep the ice as cold as I would prefer. While it's not a deal-breaker, I would have liked it to be colder. Despite this minor drawback, the ice maker still serves as a great little addition to my setup. Unfortunately, I did encounter an issue with my item upon delivery. It arrived damaged, and I tried reaching out to the seller for assistance, but unfortunately did not have any luck in resolving the matter. This was a disappointment, as I was hoping for better customer support. In conclusion, this outdoor ice maker is a good quality product that fits well in small spaces. The ice cubes it produces are a nice size, although the machine could benefit from better cooling capabilities. This little machine makes ice so fast. It says 40 pound capacity when full but is closer to 20. But it makes that in about 3-4 hours. I keep a large ice chest next to it to dump three or four times a day. I keep it outside the RV in the Texas sun and use the ice even when home. If it were inside, it would make more. We’ve had the machine for 4 months and the only thing I have had to do is clean it and remove the tube and soak it in vinegar to remove scale from the small holes that distribute the water evenly. But that is very easy. Just pull off supply tube and slide it up and out. Then just line it up, slide it back in after de-scaling, and slide the supply hose back on. The only other thing is to make sure the machine is level so water distributes evenly. As others have stated, it makes sheets of ice cubes. This is not a problem for me as it only takes a dull knife to break up. The ice breaks up on its own when it drops into the empty hopper. The sheets occur closer to the top. ... show more

Let me start by saying I own a lawn company and have two crews. They needed ice water jugs during summer months so I decided to buy an ice machine. Thought name brand was the way to go. I bought a scotsman. It was over $1300. Ran constantly, was noisy and really didn't produce that much ice. I did like the quality of the ice that the scotsman produced, solid clear cubes. Then it just crapped out right after scale removal and sanitation it just quit making ice. The new ice maker was very easy to set up. I already had everything ready from previous machine. Started making ice right away. I turn it on before I go to bed and in the morning it has already filled the cabinet and stopped producing ice. I then turn it off, fill the water jugs and leave it off until night. I wish I had bought this one to start with. Have had it for a few weeks and it performs wonderfully. Check back with me next summer and I will let you know how it is holding up. I was hoping to add to my review. I was going through and reading some 5 star reviews and there was more than 1 person talking about reclaiming and reusing the drain water from the holding tank. I wanted to warn that this is a bad idea. Unless you can sanitize the water coming from the drain, or maybe you are constantly sanitizing the holding cabinet, even then are you sure that the reclaimed water is as clean as the tap or bottle water you are using. This water is meant to be discarded. There aren't any resturants that don't have their holding tanks centered over a drain or connected to one. Reclaiming drain water and reusing it just isn't done it's not sanitary. If you want to use it to water your garden that would be fine. ... show more
