This abdominal support pad is pretty comfortable to wear for longer periods of time. If you are not careful the velcro can hang over the edges and become more uncomfortable but if setup correctly it's fine. This pad does not get especially tight. It provides a medium intensity compression which is likely adequate for what most people want. The way this material is created, it is difficult to really get compression that is too tight or overly uncomfortable to breathe / wear.

Another reviewer thought there was something defective about the binder, as it only has Velcro in one place. This is how every surgical binder I've had is made. The piece that reviewer mentioned as being stuck to the Velcro is a protector piece, to keep it from sticking to itself in transit. When you receive it, you remove that piece, wrap the binder around you, and press the ONE PIECE of Velcro/hook-and-eye closure material to anywhere on the binder (creating limitless adjustment capabilities), and it sticks. You can either throw away that protective piece, or keep it to cover the Velcro when you wash the binder. I've unfortunately had MANY binders due to abdominal surgeries, so I'm pretty familiar with them. This binder stretches well, attaches strongly, and holds well. I do find that I prefer the 4-panel binders that are 12" wide, rather than this 3-panel (9") style. This particular binder is a comfortable material, more comfortable than most, but because of the shape of my body and the section I need covered by the binder (more than 9" top to bottom), I find that this one is rolling a bit when I sit down, etc. That's not unusual for binders in general, so that's not really a negative. But if you're looking for one that just won't roll, this isn't going to be the best choice for you if you have to keep it fairly tight.

I measured my hips and they fell at the high end of one size of the wrap so I ordered the next size up. I ended up with almost 15 inches of extra fabric. I should have stayed with the smaller size. The wrap is soft and very comfortable but strong. It gave great support to my lower back and eased the chronic pain in my back and hips when I wore it around the house during the day, but it was extremely uncomfortable to lie down in and hard to remove. The hooked closure strip is a little scary. It really sticks to the wrap. I had to slide the wrap down over my hips and use a scissors to cut the tiny loops free from the fuzz that it pulled up on the wrap. A couple of times the strip stuck itself back on the wrap when I let go of it. There is no way I'd wear the wrap over good clothes and risk the hooked strip ruining them. The wrap is shipped with a protective cover over the strip. You will need it to keep the strip from sticking itself to other fabric when you store it.

If you are a portly gent like me or a lady of generous proportions or possibly great with child, you are used to most things not fitting even those described as for folks like us. Set your mind at ease, this will fit. I got the XXL and once I got it around me and fastened I have an extra 20 inches! I will apply it differently next time. I wish it came with good directions. There is a “loop” strip covering the “hook” strip attached to the end of the wrap and its function is never explained. However, the connection between the hook strip and the fuzzy side of the wrap is extremely aggressive and very difficult to separate. This makes for a very secure connection and no worries about it coming apart. I have had a couple of abdominal surgeries and diastasis recti as well as degenerative disc disease. This abdominal binder gives gentle moderate support and makes me feel better.

This elastic abdominal binder lower waist support belt uses good materials. The Velcro is assembled on only one side with the other side Velcro stuck on it without sewing to where it should be. It seems the manufacturing prcoess doesn't have any inspection nor quality control. I can choose to throw away the other side velcro, or I do some needle and thread work over the weekend. After some struggles, I figure out I can simply use only the one-side velcro. I can adjust any size myself now by simply throw away the opposite velcro. It seems working fine for now.
