I recently found myself in need of a little more lumbar support for my back while working at the home computer. Given the price of the three Herman-Miller office chairs I currently own, I wasn’t expecting much in the way of comfort or quality from this chair from Elabest, but still decided to give it a try. Wow! Was I wrong! The chair arrived nicely packaged with its contents well-protected and conveniently sectioned for easy identification and handling. The assembly booklet, included in the shipment, is well organized, has excellent diagrams and has easy-to-understand steps that made putting the chair together a breeze. Total assembly time…me doing the work while my spouse read the instructions, was about 35 minutes. Elabest offers to replace the gas cylinder (controlling the height of the chair) with a higher or shorter one to best fit one’s needs. Because of this, I wasn’t sure if the standard one, coming with my order, would be correct. It turned out that it was perfect! The height of the seat is adjustable from approximately 16 inches to 23 inches from the floor and I like it best set to around 18.5 inches. The instruction booklet indicates that the general warranty covers 5years on non-moving parts; 1 year on component parts, including control mechanisms, pneumatic cylinders, wood (?), plastic parts, base and casters; and 1 year on upholstery fabric and foam against wear and deterioration. However, email correspondence from Elabest states, “Please send your address and Amazon order number directly to our Amazon after-sales team to register for a 2-year warranty. You can find our team in the outer box or Instructions.” I’m still trying to figure out how to accomplish that part of the warranty process and what components would be covered under the 2-year warranty. After nearly a week’s worth of use, I can recommend this chair to anyone needing a little extra lumbar support. I like the feature that allows adjusting the support up and down to find exactly the right support for my back. I also like the feature that allows the tilt of seatback to either be locked in place at a specific angle or free to move. I like leaving it unlocked. I guess only time will tell how well the chair will hold up, however, for now I’m very pleased with this purchase. ... show more

I've had this for about a month now and love it so far! Construction was super easy, some of the reviews had me nervous but it only took about half an hour to put together. If you've ever assembled any wayfair furniture or the like, this will be a breeze. They include plenty of hardware and the manual is generally pretty fool proof. Packaging was good and secure with plenty of padding. I'm 6" and about 210, and this feels super stable and comfortable. I have a shorter torso so for me the lumbar support sits in the lowest position and feels great! There's no creaking, the wheels are smooth and the mesh is super breathable. It's a slightly grippy rubberized material, which I found odd at first but quickly grew used to. The lift and tilt features work exactly as expected. My only complaint is that the arms swivel pretty easily, so it's easy to knock them out of your preferred setting, but that's a pretty minor qualm. Overall I'm super pleased with this for the price, and would absolutely recommend to anyone on the fence! ... show more

    • Great mesh chair at a good price.

I only buy mesh seat chairs for our engineering office, since the foam used in the seat cushions in most non-mesh chairs is of really poor quality, unless you spend a lot of money. This chair will be sat in 6+ hours a day, and most under $500 foam seat chairs don't hold up. The good: 1. Very well built, with metal legs and well-designed components. I've bought and assembled a lot of chairs over many years, and this one is built way better than most. 2. Assembly fasteners are in a blister pack, clearly labeled as to where they are used, with spare fasteners, plus includes a hex T-wrench that was good enough quality that I actually used it. 3. Height adjustment and chair back tilt work well. 4. Large enough to fit most people comfortably, without being huge. The bad: 1. Like all mesh chairs I've sat in, it is more comfortable if you add a good seat cushion. 2. The chair back is tilted forward compared to most office chairs. I used a longer M8 bolt and added couple of flat washers to fix this. I put the two washers between the mounting bracket on the chair seat and the mounting bracket on the chair back, only for the mounting hole closest to the middle of the chair. ... show more

    • A very comfortable, solid and well made chair! Good value for money
This is an excellent office chair and provides good value for money compared with features provided by much more expensive models. It arrived in what is the most carefully packaged boxes that I’ve recently encountered. Each piece was carefully packaged in bubble wrap and pieces were separated by heavy cardboard. Very well designed packaging and everything arrived in perfect condition. Instructions were clear and concise, parts and tools carefully packaged and well labelled, I wish that everything I ordered would have this high standard of packaging and design. Assembly was easy and instructions were clear. Time from box to assembled chair was about 30 minutes, working at a comfortable pace. The chair is well designed and solidly made, again, good value for money. Nearly every touch point is adjustable - Seat height, lumbar support, seat back forward/aft, armrest height - angle - and width, all easily adjustable given the tools that came with the product. I opted for the optional roller blade wheels and had confirmation of my request within a couple of hours and notification that the wheels had been shipped came the next day. That’s an example of excellent customer support and service - I am very impressed with the quality of my new chair and with the support and service of the company that sold it. I got this particular chair because it has a mesh upper and lower. I live in South Florida and don't always like to keep the AC on blast so I wanted something breathable. The chair definitely keeps me much cooler than your standard padded office chair.
