Description

CORE 500 is designed for humans but can be used on animals by veterinarians. Its ECG functionality is limited on animals due to fur interference. Eko AI is not for animal use. *Eko+ grants access to Eko AI in countries with regulatory approval, intended solely for licensed healthcare professionals. What makes the CORE 500 different from other stethoscopes? The CORE 500 modernizes the stethoscope with 3-lead ECG, AI detection, 40x sound amplification, noise cancellation, and waveform visualization. This enhances exam accuracy and aids in detecting diseases often missed by traditional stethoscopes. Who is the CORE 500 designed for? It’s designed for clinicians who need to listen to heart and lung sounds with precision, work in settings with background noise, or regularly assess patients for arrhythmias such as AFib. It can be used in outpatient and inpatient settings. What is Eko+ membership, and is it required to use the CORE 500? Eko+ membership is required to save recordings and run Eko AI analysis. Enjoy a 14-day free trial with purchase; membership auto-renews at US$119.99/year unless canceled. Prices shown in local currency where Eko+ is offered. Taxes and fees may apply. Can the CORE 500 be used with Bluetooth-enabled headphones or hearing aids? The CORE 500 can be used with wireless listening devices such as Bluetooth-enabled hearing aids or headphones when connected through the Eko App. For the best audio quality, listening through your mobile device’s built-in speaker is not recommended. How do clinicians use Eko AI in their practice? Eko AI is FDA-cleared software that uses screening algorithms to help clinicians detect suspected abnormalities. The findings are not diagnoses but serve to aid clinicians in reaching an accurate and confident diagnosis quickly.

  • The best!
Color: Silver
Worth every penny. Clear, specific sound for easy diagnosis. EKG trace very useful for rapid interpretation, saves record to your cell phone. Never going back to "normal" stethoscope. NOTE: buy a case to protect it. TIGA brand highly recommended.

  • Quick, easy-to-use, and efficient
Color: Silver
I am a medical student with graduate-level experience in signal processing. An early academic project of mine involved work on a portable ECG device, so I have a general understanding of the core ideas and challenges that come with designing such a device. I own a KardiaMobile portable 6L EKG device and a Littmann stethoscope with a tunable diaphragm which provide great points of comparison. My overall experience with this stethoscope is quite positive. I can see it being an useful learning tool as well, saving example EKG AND PCG recordings (simultaneously!!) of heart conditions as I observe them in the clinic. The EKG feature is easy to use, and finds a signal quite quickly (even faster than my KardiaMobile device). While it finds a signal super quick, it'd be nice to have some translation of the 3 plotted leads to the standard EKG leads found on a regular hospital system-- right now it requires some user interpretation. As far as the acoustics on this stethoscope go, it's handy to have the amplification, and I could see how it might help some clinicians with mild hearing loss. The noise-cancelling feature is also handy, reducing some of the artifactual noise you pick up with stethoscopes like the standard Littmann. HOWEVER, I find that turning the noise-cancelling can sometimes help pick up some of the higher-frequency sounds (the pulmonary setting also helps with this). Also, (nitpicking here) I've noticed the diaphragm paired with the Eko signal processing seems to be a bit different than I'm used to with the Littmann, especially on the cardio setting. Higher pressure on the Littmann emphasizes the higher frequency sounds, but on the Eko, it oddly seems to emphasize the lower frequency sounds. Also, sometimes the pressure optimal for clean EKG is not optimal for listening (in some cases). So it might require a little playing around and getting used to. Also, when using the stethoscope head paired with Bluetooth instead of the wired earpiece, there's a slight delay in the connection which is noticeable but at the end of the day is probably not a big deal, and could just be my earbuds. It is still pretty cool to be able to keep the head in my bag or pocket without the earpiece in case I see something interesting I want to record (and its fairly easy to tell on the app whether the acoustic/electric signal quality is good, even without listening). Overall, it's been both super educational and fun working with this stethoscope, and I look forward to using it more! ... show more

  • Brought peace of mind in a rough time.

My mother in law was home with us for her passing. My wife, her daughter, is a LVN and she had to use her stethoscope to know when she passes to stop her pacemaker (DNR). I bought her this stethoscope so she could leave it on her chest and monitor from her phone or the other daughters could check her heart rate while sitting in the room with her as they took turns throughout the night. This was the best thing I could ever have gotten her. It reduced the stress during a stressful time and allowed the sisters to sit around their mom and share stories, and laugh. I am so thankful for this device and if she never uses it again, it was completely worth it! ... show more

Best stethoscope ever. I'm a home health nurse and I work at the prison, I don't use it too much at the prison. Only if we have an emergency. However i use it a the time for home health, it makes assessing my patience easier and faster. I love that I get a much more accurate assessment of my patients cardiac out put. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • ITS WORTH IT.
Color: Champagne
FREAKING AMAZING. I was convinced by a pediatrician who owned it and reported that she had actually caught many murmurs in patients that had not been caught due to the stethoscope. First night I used on all my family members so I could show them the recording of their ekg… this is where things got stressful. Used on my 10 year old and was distressed to find a VERY irregular heartbeat. As a nurse, this is a very concerning finding to figure out for the first time in 10 years. Anyways, played it off well and was like oops didn’t do it right let’s do it again.. same thing. Felt her pulse, matched up perfect. I called her doctor and sent the recordings right away. The app (with free trial) detected afib in both recordings and a murmur in one, but obviously it’s not perfect. She’s having no symptoms of afib, but obviously the irregular heartbeat is concerning. The doctor reassured me she would be very ill if in afib, but that she wants to see her monday to follow up on the irregular heartbeat, and if symptomatic ED right away. (Found on Friday after work) Besides stressing me about my child (not the stethoscopes fault) I’ve used stethoscopes daily (cardiac littman) for over 6 years, thinking I had a great stethoscope, and this one takes the cake. It seals in your ears like earplugs, can’t hear ANYTHING besides what you are listening to. I’m practically deaf (not totally but I do need hearing aids) and can never hear very much with regular stethoscope…I can hear everything (INCLUDING BOWEL SOUNDS) SO CLEAR. On top of that, it ISOLATES either the heart or the lungs if you want it to. You can leave it in one spot on the chest and choose heart, and you pretty much only hear the heart EXTREMELY clearly (and can record or do ekg) Without moving it, you can switch to pulmonary, and then you ONLY HEAR THE LUNGS AND NOT THE HEART. WITHOUT MOVING IT. I obviously had all of my family members (children included) try it and they were all amazed at how they could hear one thing or the other even without moving it. It’s absolutely amazing. As an RN, my husband was like “why tf do you need a stethoscope like that” and the nurse practitioner I work with was like “why tf do you need a stethoscope like that” but if it is what caused me to notice my daughter has a very irregular heartbeat even after pediatricians “listening” to her heart before, worth it. If it keeps me from going to the ED because my resting heart rate is 150 (I have POTS) and thinking I’m having a heart attack? Worth it. If my mom complains her left arm hurts, and I can have peace of mind? Worth it. IF I CAN HEAR MY PATIENTS HEART CLEARLY, AND SEND HIPAA COMPLIANT RECORDINGS?!?!? Worth it. Out to eat and a person randomly collapses and is not choking? Can evaluate and see rhythm… worth it. If my patient has a condition that is undiagnosed and seems like could be heart related… can’t afford ekg? Worth it. ITS WORTH IT. Just get it. An EKG at the hospital is like 2000 even with insurance, and you can literally take a reading on all different leads spots with this stethoscope, it’s WORTH IT. Just get it. Pay for it monthly, pay for it all at once.. what is a life worth? Pretty sure more than this. ... show more

  • Great sound quality.
I love my ECHO Core. So many ways to use it. I can get through 3 twelve hour shifts before I need to recharge the battery. The color is beautiful. I love the recording option and the feedback. It is a little heavy and takes some getting used to. Overall great too for teaching or for someone who has difficulty hearing with a regular stethoscope. Easily wipes clean. It comes with multiple ear pieces for a better fit. For the price, they should have thrown in the screen protector. ... show more

Great for listening to rhythms if you clean the head with alcohol every time you use it. I only use it in on one person but I have to clean it every time I use it or I can’t get an accurate reading. I love that I can record and send the audio to the physician too. The ability to hear it both through the headphones and the phone is a great feature too. ... show more

  • Too much of a good thing
Color: Silver
I wanted to love this, I really did. I've been in the ER, med surg, oncology, post op, and now critical care. I've got decent experience across specialties as a a nurse, and while I can certainly see where this would be a stellar product, especially for professionals who are hard of hearing, there were just too many downsides to justify the price. For one, the increased audio volume actually made it harder to identify the sounds you were trying to hear. There's this constant white noise the drowned out everything-I couldn't even identify normal inhalation and exhalation on myself while testing this product out. Switch back to my basic Littman? Easy. I also worry about the battery life. It felt like even touching it turned it back on, and once that battery is dead, it's unuseable and you'd be back to the hospital stock Fischer Price stethoscope. I also felt like the ekg feature, while also kind of fun to play with, isn't much benefit either. It might be able to point you in the right direction with very basic abnormal rhythms like afib, but in a hospital setting, afib isn’t going to get anyone very excited. That patient is probably on more accurate monitoring, the different views on a diagnostic 12-lead are more crucial in identifying the truly scary rhythms, you could likely hear and feel the irregularity with a basic stethoscope or the advanced technology of having fingertips on a radial pulse, and unless its afib rvr, you're unlikely to need rapid interventions. This may be helpful in a primary care setting, but not for your run of the mill hospital nurse. I never tested out the AI features because I couldn't justify the price on top of an already expensive piece of equipment, and I wish I could have tried that. I liked seeing my own lub dub on the screen, but that doesn't serve me any purpose, and the white noise was visible too. If there were any subtle adventitious sounds-a murmur or fine crackles, I feel like those would be hard to identify even with a visible tracing because they'd get drowned out, and it makes me curious if the AI features could see through that. I do think that healthcare is one of the few places where AI can be a tool for good, but I just don't know if we're fully there yet. I think if we continue developing this scope, and maybe release an upgrade in the future I'd consider trying again, but for now, for what I use this for, my Littman cardiology and classic will do me just fine. ... show more
