It worked well. It takes a lot of power. I am glad I got the large capacity battery. I have walk a distance to my curb. I have a 250 wide lot. It was the first it was trimmed. Yes, it's on the heavy side with the 5 amp hr battery, but strap makes it very manageable. I used with the brush cutter so far and am happy with the unit. String trimmer was basically free with the deal so I went with the combo. I didn't think I needed a better trimmer, but was wrong. Ego one is awesome. Over the past several years, I’ve built a sizable collection of universal attachments for my gas string trimmer. When that unit finally needed replacing, I chose the EGO Powerhead, since I’m already invested in their battery ecosystem. However, unlike most brands, EGO uses a proprietary attachment system that isn’t compatible with my existing accessories. I really like the EGO brand and believe this is a solid tool, but I’m not willing to spend significantly to replace my current attachments. Unfortunately, I’ll need to return this unit. ... show more

This unit has power and has good run time. But the string loading head is problematic. I find myself constantly having to open the head, pull the string out and reload it. Bump start feature just doesn’t seem to work well. It started even with the factory loaded string. I’m serious looking into returning this. It would be better if I were sent a different head Without having to return the whole unit. I’m really frustrated with this product. It has so much promise but having to constantly stop and reload the string is not good at all. I have the ego lawnmower and the blower and I’m very satisfied with those products but this string trimmer just doesn’t do it for me. I have less problems with the head on my old gas model than I have with this. In the videos I see people grab the head by the two tabs and just pull it out with one hand. That’s impossible with this model or rather the unit I have. And what makes matters worse is I was so confident in these products having the lawnmower and the blower before this one I prematurely through the boxes out so I would need a new box sent just to replace this trimmer. Very frustrating very frustrating Edit: I’ve since returned this unit and was sent a new one. This one works perfectly. Seems something was wrong with the other one. The head is still tough to remove but being this unit loads string like it’s supposed to you should rarely have to remove it. ... show more

I ran the weed eater for approximately an hour and a half. Mostly on the high setting. It operated flawlessly And did everything my gas power did. But a lot quieter and with a lot less vibration.
