  • Best lawn mower on the market
Style: 21" w/6.0Ah Battery, Dual Toggle
This is the perfect lawn mower. It's light, self propelled and runs for a long, long time on a good battery. No gas. No oil. No air filter. No spark plug. I've never had a lawn mower as good as this. Oh, these movers are long lasting too. I've owned an ECO mower for years and haven't had it die yet. This is my second purchase and is a gift for my church. Definitely a value for the money. ... show more

  • Excellent through the first month
Style: 21" w/6.0Ah Battery, Dual Toggle
I bought this to replace a nearly 40-year-old Honda Harmony 216 which had an outstanding performer (I hadn't changed the oil in 15 years) but had some deferred maintenance liked a cracked gas tank, no self-propulsion, and bad wheels. When the wire to the blade broke, I decided to get an electric and chose the Ego because I have an Ego blower which has been a super useful tool. This mower is pretty light weight and much more maneuverable than the Honda. It's obviously quieter than any gas mower. Set up was pretty easy though no one in my family considers me handy. My mowing area is probably around 50 x 30 ft though the actual grassy area is smaller, having been reduced by years of California drought, gophers, and ground squirrels. The Ego can cut this area plus pick up lots of leaves on our patio and flagstones using one bar of the battery, i.e. it has nearly a full charge when I have finished. It does a much better job of picking up leaves on flat surfaces like the flagstones and the road than the Honda did. Our grass isn't growing at this time of year so it's difficult to fully evaluate the cutting ability. I bought the self-propelled model because at age 75 I was concerned about the weight, but the machine is very easy to push so I have stopped using self-propelled mode. I also note that the machine can be very fast in self-propelled mode and I advise turning the speed control down the first time and adjusting as needed. In retrospect, the self-propulsion and larger battery are likely overkill for my needs, but I guess the final verdict will have to wait until spring or summer. ... show more

  • Pro lawn use: smooth cut, strong in thick grass, battery lasts; great upgrade from gas.
Style: 21" w/6.0Ah Battery, Dual Toggle
I mow lawns for a living and bought this for a property with a steep hill where a gas mower was basically a no-go. This was the second battery mower brand I tried, and this one is the winner. It cuts smooth, it’s easy to push, and it handles thicker/deeper grass better than I expected—the cut still looks clean and consistent. Battery has never been an issue for me: the charge indicator is accurate, and I’ve always finished the yard before it ran out. It impressed me enough that I got rid of my other push mowers and now I mainly use this one. I mostly use it on a few smaller lawns, but if you’re on the fence about switching to battery, I’d recommend this mower. In my experience it cuts better than several gas push mowers I’ve owned. ... show more

  • Nice mower, but probably needs the extra battery
Style: 21" w/6.0Ah Battery, Dual Toggle
'k, so this is my take after the first use.... I have a small, very flat lawn. And the battery BARELY lasted long enough to get the whole thing in one go. I was pushing the mower myself for ~90% of the time (i.e. NOT using the self propelled ability). I WAS able to finish, but it was blinking red at the end) Pros: - Super lightweight to move around and easy to steer (even 1 handed). It'd be VERY easy to use by a kid or small adult. - Adjustable Height of the handle was great, even for me (I'm 6'3" and this is the first time in my life I DIDN'T have a back ache from bending over using the mower) - The self propelling ability is speed adjustable - Collapses easily for storage - No grease, oil, smelly gas cans, exhaust - It's quiet (think large oscillating fan) Cons: - A normal to larger sized lawn would definitely require the purchase of a 2nd battery (comes with 1 battery and a charger) - Tended to clog and stop when I hit some taller grass (6 plus inches). Had to take it much slower even when using the side chute and not a bagger. Overall: So far, after this first use, I would easily recommend buying it if you can afford the 2nd battery with it. If you don't mind doing it in stages (i.e. mow the front and side lawns, break to recharge the battery for an hour or so while you weed whack, mow the back lawn, etc. ) you COULD get away with one battery as well. ... show more

  • EGO is a great product!
Style: 21" w/6.0Ah Battery, Dual Toggle
I love this thing! I bought an extra battery. It takes two charges to mow 3/4 of an acre in about an hour and a half. I prefer to use the push mower, it’s a finer cut than my husband’s lawn tractor. Moves smoothly, light and easy.

  • Six stars!
Style: 21" w/6.0Ah Battery, Dual Toggle
I have been using Ego self-propelled mowers for 8 years. They tend to last about 4 years. I have to admit, I killed the last one. I wasn't paying attention and ran over a live oak root (seriously hard wood). Bent the blade and stripped the gears. As much as I loved the older models that I have had, this new model is much better. The lights are nice but I do most of my mowing in the daytime so it's not really something I needed. The biggest improvement is in the weight. These are MUCH lighter than the old ones. So much more so that I hardly use the drive at all. Only in very thick grass or uphill. It's just as easy to push it as it is to use the drive. This was definitely not the case with the older models. Are they expensive? Yes. Are they worth it? Yes, unless you like being a small engine repair person and having to deal with gas (ethanol free of course) and oil and yanking on a cord until you think your arm will fall off. One of the under the radar things about electric mowers is that you can stop and start them anytime you need to. When I first started using them I would hesitate to shut them off because I was used to trying to keep a gas mower running (so I didn't have to yank on the cord again). The battery life estimates are pretty accurate. Of course, it depends on the terrain and how thick and/or wet your grass is. Do yourself a favor and get one of these. You won't regret it. ... show more
