Same Ego battery that came with the mower with a nice upgrade that displays a power meter on the top. Runs and charges as good or better than the original battery. Great that it’s perfectly compatible with the original charger so I don’t need a second one.     • Expensive, but powerful and long life.
The 5-amp batteries are fine for all of the smaller EGO devices. A quick charger can recharge them in about an hour. The battery is adequate, but not satisfactorily powerful or lasting as a 10-amp battery for lawn mowers and snow-throwers. It's worth the expense to have at least one spare on hand.

    • unusual battery
i bought an ego power station with two 7.5. i ordered the older 5.0 amp for my third battery. after a couple of hours of charging the screen shows charging complete. i turned on the ego power station and to my disbelief the new battery was flashing red orange green. i checked the online remedy for this and could find no solution. i then tested the power output with my 21 cu ft fridge and gained a couple of hours at 18.3 hours of run time when the fridge was idling. fridge then kicked in and starting running its 750 watts. the display screen on the ego power station went down to 5.3 hours run time. not bad since the solar generator runs at 2.5 hours run time for a 650 watt output. i finally found out in the users manual that the older ego batteries g1 and older do flash red orange green on the ego power station and is considered normal. i gained a few hours of run time by adding a third battery. after all this , i may need to buy a backup gas generator for longer runtimes. the solar charger for the power station is coming out in a month or two. but that does not solve the problem of long term power outages. ... show more

I had used the Ego weeder with the standard battery that came with the product. I could only used the weeder for about 1/3 of my yard when the battery would die. After recharging, it could continue, but it was irritating. Upon receiving this product, I was able to complete the task without issue. The 5 ahb is great. I wish I had tried on sooner.     • Short Battery Life
I bought this 5ah battery as a second battery to use while the battery which came with my EGO trimmer was on the charger. This battery only lasts a fraction of the time as the original battery. Unlike the 5ah EGO battery that came with my trimmer, It only has a single green LED indicator for charge status. When the battery needs recharge, it turns red. This 5ah battery only lasts 5-10 minutes on a full charge when used with my trimmer. The original EGO battery that came with my trimmer is still going strong and lasts over 45 minutes on a full charge. ... show more
