  • Glad I purchased these
Style: 7.5 Ah Battery
My old batteries were over three years old and weren't holding the charge as long as they used to. Granted, my old batteries still last a while, just not as long as I liked. I had two 5 amp batteries and two 7.5 amp batteries. This past fall, one of my 5 amp batteries became bad as one of the batteries failed. I still need to replace the bad battery with out damaging it. Seeing as winter was on it's way and I needed new batteries for my EGO Two Stage snow blower. I decided to purchase these as I'm not yet ready to take a chance and purchase a third party batty which may or may not work the way the EGO batteries work or possibly even fail to work. I found that these new batteries work really good and have plenty of power to them. More power than my old batteries. It seems you can notice the diffence when using my snowblower. I just wish the price of these would become more affordable as being low income, these create a big hole in your pocket what with the cost. I enjoy using EGO products and the best thing is the batteries are interchangeable. Have the builtin battery meter helps too. Then again, my old 7.5 amp batteries were of the same type. ... show more

  • Worth the extra money
Style: 7.5 Ah Battery
Despite the fact that I have a lot of experience with LiFePo batteries I thought I'd try one of the much cheaper Chinese replacements for the 7.5 AH Ego Power battery. Here's what I learned. The original, now five-year old battery that came with my Ego lawn mower when new was beginning show its age. I was no longer able to mow both front and back yards with just one full charge. Then, the mower's battery indicator would flash red even before finishing just the (larger) backyard. That said, these batteries should last MUCH longer. Current LiFePo chemistry is good enough that we should reasonably expect at least several thousand cycles before reaching a theoretically diminished limit of 80% of original capacity. Unlike older battery chemistries LiFePo battery packs typically deliver a consistent level of energy until nearly exhausted when they suddenly fall off a cliff and the built-in Battery Management System, (BMS) shuts everything down to protect the cells from further damage. So, five years is way short of these typical expected lifetime values. I got about half of what I expected especially when using the Ego Power battery charger. I wouldn't care so much about the failure to deliver the expected performance, but these batteries are not cheap! With this in mind I didn't feel like I owed the Ego Power people my continued business. Going all-electric was supposed to save a few dollars on fuel over the typical gas-powered mower we all grew up with, right? Instead, any savings I was supposed to get by being oh-so cool and environmentally-concerned was wiped out when I only got half of what I expected from the battery. What did I do? First I bought a 6.0 AH Chinese knock-off on Amazon. It looked just like the Ego-branded battery, but slightly smaller in size and weight as expected. I incorrectly assumed that 5-6 years of improving battery technology might work to my advantage and the labeled AH difference might be a wash. Yes, a lower capacity battery module at 6.0 vs. 7.5 Ah, but MUCH cheaper to buy than the equivalent 7.5 AH Ego Power-branded offering. I tested the the 6.0 AH the best way I should: by mowing the lawn! I had to wait a while to allow the grass grow enough to try the battery out. My un-scientific verdict was that this brand new advertised 6.0 AH battery was actually closer to 4.8 - 5.0 AH. Not even close to the advertised 6.0 AH. Thankfully, Amazon was good enough to accept my return even after a few weeks had passed. I've read all the comments about having the proper combination of Ego battery and the Ego charger. But all of these batteries, including the Chinese knock-offs, are assembled with their own built-in BMS's. Fact is, LiFePo batteries could care less about being charged by a special LiFePo charger since the battery's own BMS regulates everything about the charging/discharging process internally. Ultimately, I bit the bullet and forked over for the new Ego Power-branded 7.5 AH battery knowing that while it seems to have the same amount of power I need to do the job, it will probably not last as long as it should. This is an issue which Ego Power and all its competitors need to address. All that said, the durability and overall build quality of all my Ego Power products are excellent. I look forward to trying out whatever new products they come up with. ... show more

  • On time and worked great
Style: 7.5 Ah Battery
Ordered the battery for my snowblower. It came very quickly and worked great and had a power that I was missing. Would recommend buying additional batteries.

  • So far so good - hopefully it lasts
Style: 7.5 Ah Battery
This was a very good price compared to the EGO list price and to what my local hardware store offered, even with discounts. It is a Genuine EGO+ battery which was important to me, but not cheap! I like that I can register this with EGO for a warranty. I've not had to use it yet but snow is coming so it should get a good workout soon. I hope it lasts without charge degradation for a long time. This is my 4th EGO battery - 3 came with tools (mower, snowblower). One of those that came with the tool seemed like it degraded more than expected during warranty period and EGO replaced it. So I think worth staying with the official batteries even though they're not cheap. ... show more

  • Good battery for EGO
Style: 2.5 Ah Battery
Works perfectly with my EGO equipment. The 2.5A size is lighter than the bigger batteries and still gives good run time for my blower or string trimmer

  • They are great when new...
Style: 5.0 Ah Battery
I have been running two of these batteries over the past two years... I use them every single day. Surprisingly, my first generation battery is still strong. The second generation battery does not charge well and has limited power. I still use it, but it does not last very long. This third generation battery is super strong and lasts twice as long as my older batteries. I am super pleased. We will see how long it lasts being charged almost daily. I considered the cheaper knock off batteries but decided against it. Hopefully I get my moneys worth as they are not cheap. ... show more

  • Long run time!
Style: 7.5 Ah Battery
I bought this 7.5 Ah Ego battery as an upgrade to my Ego mower (originally came with a 5 Ah battery that has been losing capacity over time). I was not disappointed! I have a 1/3 acre lawn (minus the house), and it easily mowed it all (thick grass) with more than 25% capacity left. Great price as well. Charges just fine on the standard charger. ... show more
