These little 2AH batteries are pretty awesome! Their size helps keep M12 tools small and light, which is especially nice for really small and light tools like the soldering iron. Plus, they recharge very fast (especially compared the 5AH M18 I’m used to running). I have found that they are not great in every tool though. They are great in my cordless ratchet and last quite a while. They work well in my soldering iron, but it does use them a little faster. But the die grinder? It gets the battery too hot (especially in AZ) very fast. Borderline unusable. Anyway, as far as I can tell they are authentic. They look great. They feel great. They charge and discharge perfectly. I have had more failures with Milwaukee batteries and battery chargers than with any other brand of gear of any sort, ever, in my life! But the power tools themselves are unbeatable. I think I'm on my fourth charging station and this battery failed for no reason; it started blinking red / green while on the charger. Replaced with a new one (this Amazon item) and all is well again. Unreasonable mysterious failure rate. But it's come to be expected. I'm in too deep to switch. I'll give this battery five stars because, until it fails unexpectedly, it is an excellent part of an excellent system. I received a brand new item which charges as it should. I guess it's that time of year to suffer the Milwaukee's got me by the battery again blues ... Carry on friends! ... show more
