  • GREAT!!!
Style: 18" w/5.0Ah Battery
Should be 6 stars. If your on the fence about about EGO products get off and just buy them. Powerful, long lasting batteries and superb performance. Out of the box this saw eviscerated a large mesquite and had enough battery left to take down an offensive picnic table.

  • Electric is a game changer.
Style: 18" w/5.0Ah Battery
Don’t usually leave reviews but I was so impressed that I’m now writing this. I was unsure about ordering this at first. I’ve ran many gas powered chainsaws and wanted to try out this one. I was actually very impressed with the power and the run time of this saw. I was easily able to cut up a few trees on one battery no problem with quite a bit of power left over. The quick chain adjustment knob is actually a game changer. No tools needed to tighten chain or if the chain pops off. Kept me going without a worry. The oil port worked great and doesn’t seem to clog up like some other gas saws. No worry about mixing gas and it’s much cheaper to operate! Overall I would buy this saw again for sure. ... show more

  • Works great
Style: 16" w/5.0Ah Battery
Works great. Less noisy than a gas powered saw. Thought I would just use it for one project but it turns out that when you have a chainsaw you find uses for it. The battery lasts as long as I would ever want to use it (well over an hour) - unlike a string trimmer you don't have this running continuously so it lasts a lot longer. This is my second Ego tool and I've been happy with both. Stupid name for a tool company but they seem to be good tools. ... show more

  • Impressive!
Style: 16" w/2.5Ah Battery
I've had a lot of battery tools over the years but I've stayed away from outdoor equipment because I'm even tougher on and more demanding of outdoor equipment than I am my shop tools. A while ago I did get a 6" battery chainsaw, a cheap knockoff, and I was impressed with it. It was so easy to use and it was so useful! Then my 16" Stihl chainsaw died and I was forced to make a choice, electric or gas to replace it. I have a 20" & 28" gas saw for heavy cutting. This is my light duty saw, it's for limbs, small trees, yard cleanup. While it never sees the hardest use, it's the saw I'm most likely to grab for some quick project. While I was skeptical, the reviews both on Amazon and the rest of the internet, had me believing this EGO Power+ CS1611 might be the right choice. Turns out it definitely is the right choice. I had a small tree (about 25 ft tall, 12" diameter) fall over a few days before the saw came. I charged up the battery overnight and got to work in the morning. This saw was every bit as good as my Stihl and in many ways better. It's compact, light-weight, and much quieter. More importantly, it cuts fast. As fast as any small gas chainsaw I've ever had previously. It's well-balanced, the dogs work well, and the no tool chain tensioning is great. I thought the thing I was going to like most about this chainsaw was going to be starting it. Small gas chainsaws are ALWAYS a pain to start, even when they're broken in and perfectly tuned. I was wrong, although just pressing a button to start it is wonderful. Turns out the thing I love best about this saw is the lack of vibration. I've gotten old enough that the vibration of a chainsaw will leave my wrists, elbows, and shoulders sore after even a fairly short bit of use. I cut up the entire tree and the next day there was no soreness because there's almost no vibration. So if you're older, this saw is much easier on your joints. As far as battery life, I'd say that the included 2.5Ah battery is about equivalent to a 1/2 tank of gas in my old Stihl 16". I did the whole tree on one battery but the battery was done at the end. I've already got a 2nd battery and I think if I run through both batteries my body will be done even if the work isn't. So, if you're looking for a great, small, chainsaw and you're on the fence between gas and battery, get off the fence. This is the saw to get! ... show more

  • Supposed to be the best value
Style: 16" w/5.0Ah Battery
I love going to the YouTube Vlog Project Farm for product comparisons. This was not the best saw, but the best value. So I got it to go up the mountain and cut down trees without all the gasoline, oil, and tools. My trees are mid-sized 6" to 24". My $420 Stihl Woodboss locked up after 3 years. My Oregon 18" plug-in is a great saw. Wonderful close to the house. I thought a battery saw would work well enough. I have felled several trees with it now. All pine or cedar. I haven't tried hardwoods yet. I cut down two dead pine trees on the way up yesterday, then a 17" live cedar. I limbed and bucked the cedar. All that was done on one charge and an oil fill. Over an hour, maybe an hour and a half. Charging from empty took 90 minutes. On the 4th cutting trip I noticed the saw started stopping during cuts. The battery still had plenty of charge. I would stop for a few seconds and it would start back up. It does not cut like a Stihl, but pretty good. For cutting around the property it is fine. And it starts first time everytime, hot or cold with no expesive trips to the power equipment shop. I find it useful around the property. On a farm clearing a field, or in commercial construction, no way. I like dragging logs near the house where I can take the Oregon CS1500 and cut logs to woodstove size. It cuts faster, can go on for hours, cost $105 on Amazon, and is self sharpening (all be it a bit of a chain burner). The Stihl Woodboss is a beast, a $420 beast, that is hard to start in winter, goes through blade sharpenings, needs a bunch of equipment in the field, and barely out lived the warranty. If you can live with the limitations described the EGO is good buy. The pictures show the 17" cedar, the limbed trunk, and the EGO CS1604 next to the Oregon CS1500 both bought on Amazon. FYI you can pick up used Woodbosses on Ebay for ~$250 if you really need a gasoline chainsaw. I just don't bieve I got my value buying a new one ... show more

  • Very pleased, works like a champ.
Style: 18" w/5.0Ah Battery
Bought by my husband. It uses the same batteries as all of his otur Ego tools, it seems well made, and the narrow chain appear4s to cut more easily than a standard gas-powered saw's chain, probably because it has less wood to take out. One more fossil-fuel burning tool out of the garage, and our solar farm means that we don't even have to pay for electricity to regharge the battery. ... show more
