I bought this brush cutter head to clear several areas at the edge of woods on my lot. I was looking forward to getting it because of the very positive experience I've had with every EGO Power+ tool I've bought in the past...and this one did not disappoint! The head came well-packaged and in perfect condition. Took me about 10 minutes to put it together, and that was working slowly and carefully. It's well-built with a carbon fiber shaft and a very solid and very sharp blade--I was impressed with the quality. It has a guard for the blade and also has a barrier bar that gets added to the hand grip of the power head that it attaches to. No problems at all putting it together. The cutter fit very well to the head, nice and snug. I snapped it on, put on the ear and eye protection, and headed out to see how it would work. To give the punchline first: It went through my brush and saplings like they were made of butter. I had a pretty good size area I needed to clear, maybe 1000 sq ft. See attached pics for before and after. To give a perspective, some of the samplings were approx 8 feet tall, some of the were over 1 inch in diameter. Largest was probably about an inch and a half, but the power head + cutter had no problems at all. I was able to clear the entire area, including dragging off all the debris, in about 30 minutes with motor speed on low. I used a 5.0 Ah EGO battery on the head. That made a nice balance for the blade weight. With the shoulder strap on, it was not physically strenuous at all. So, while I was at it, I cleared a few smaller areas! This cutter plus the power head make a great tool. I'm very happy with it and look forward to using it a lot more. Might see if my neighbor needs anything trimmed :-) ... show more

Quite an aggressive tool! I cleared a very dense barberry "takeover' on our property. Smashed this nasty brush and even small saplings with ease. Pleasantly surprised how powerful and smooth it operated. Really suggest the neck strap too.

Works as you would expect, just don’t use it on rediculously thick underbrush - not a brushhog but a useful tool to add to the Ego System powerhandle! I fitted it to the older model and it worked well but not fully adjustable.

Awesome product. I have several EGO tools so I was expecting another great product when I ordered this brush cutter. I have been clearing an empty field next to my house to try to keep the weeds and vines from overtaking everything. This brush cutter tore through the weeds and underbrush like a hot knife through butter. The only caution I would suggest is to be careful using this because if you hit something in the underbrush like a thick vine or hidden stump the kickback is very strong so it's not a tool you should take lightly while using it. This attachment is awesome. Absolutely made short work of some thick grass and shrubs. Made me regret buying a string-based, brush cutter months earlier for the same purpose. It was powerful enough but the heavy duty string would constantly break. Annoying. This, however, doesn’t have that problem with its medieval, metal, tri-tipped blade. Paired with a hefty EGO battery, it’s scary powerful and easily cuts through thick grass and light brush. On that note, don’t let your kids or animals play around you when it’s operational. It will do serious damage if it connects on body parts. Wear good eye and body protection, too. It will sling out debris at a high rate of speed! ... show more

My yard is a mess, in part due to we have some weed trees(tree of the heaven) it wrecks my yard anytime I try to do anything. Well this winter lots of them popped up and going over them with a mower is hard(they can literally grow a foot or 2 in a week) and the stems get pretty thick fairly quick as well, regular weed whipping will not work on them.
