This lamp is excellent. I was looking for a shade but came across this lamp and gave it a shot. Works perfectly and the remote is awesome. Never realized how useful a lamp remote could be, magnetized too so always there when you're done. All the functions work perfectly and quite a selection, it looks really nice, gold color. Timer is dead on and that's quite a convenience with being up before sunrise and 45m to an hour before sunrise. The modes are a nice touch. It really covers all the bases. Even breast feeding, which is a nice mode. Can't say anything bad about this lamp. 9w bulb. Multiple shades. Foot switch is the master switch so if you turn it off, like going away for awhile, it'll not allow the remote to work. Nice safety feature. Definitely recommend for living room or bedroom/office. An honest value. Easy enough to put together and the base is very stable. BTW I've been using this for a week now. Couldn't be happier. Nice ability for light reduction while playing my guitar into the late night. ... show more

I love that the lamp comes with a remote because we had to put it in the corner behind my child’s playpen it would be difficult to turn it on and off without the remote. The light also has different settings with how bright/dim you can make it. It even has built in settings for night, reading & baby modes. It was very easy to put together and it seems sturdy.
