I have an old sailboat. The knotometer had a "grain of wheat" light in it which gave out. Instead of putting 50 year old technology back in, I put one of these LED bulbs in. It works great and is less draw on my battery. Not sure what to do with the other 29 of them :)

Great brightness for small hobby projects I like to do on my O Gauge train layout. Prewired so just have to connect your power to the leads, Red for Positive +9-+12 Volts DC and Black to the Negative.
