Description

The Edelbrock Performer Square Bore Air Valve Secondary Manual Choke New Carburetor features a two-piece, all-aluminum construction for cooler operating temperatures and less warping. It is designed and calibrated for good street performance and fuel economy in 402 CID and larger engines with the Edelbrock Performer manifolds. There are no gaskets below the fuel bowl level for fewer leaks and no plastic parts or power valves to blow out. The Performer manual choke carburetor includes both timed and full vacuum ports for ignition advance. The carburetors use easily changed metering rods for precise tuning. The Edelbrock Performer covers the replacement or repair of the product only and does not cover the cost of removal and installation.Bore Diameter :Primary Bore 1.44; Secondary Bore 1.69 From the Manufacturer Designed and calibrated for optimum street performance in small- block and some big-block engines. Match with a variety of manifolds that include Edelbrock Performer, Performer EPS, Performer RPM, RPM Air-Gap, Torker II and other brands of similar design. Includes both timed and full vacuum ports for ignition advance. Electric choke can be added if needed. Comes with: Metering Jets – Primary .100, Secondary .095; Metering Rods – .070 x .047; Step-Up Spring – orange (5" Hg). Use our Carb Studs if needed. I ran it for about a month on a 351w with 500+ lift cam aluminum heads and intake but ended up going with a 1407. Its a great function ing carb for the price and fuel efficiency was good.

I put this on a 1968 Ford Ranchero! I've tried 3 used ones before and had issues with them. I put this on and the car runs perfectly now. Only had to modify the linkage connection dues to it being an older car! I will never buy a used carb again, this is my go to carb from now on!

The Installation Edelbrock 1405 performer 600 Carburetor went very well I have used these type or carburetors before. They have always worked awesome, and very easy to replace parts and make adjustments I would buy again...

    • Nice carb that fired up first try.
I used this on my 1979 corvette and it works great. It may have lost a little HP but it runs better and the fuel economy is also slightly better. The one issue that I had was that I needed a riser on the manifold to clear things like the EGR valve, which also needed an extension to clear the carb. The other issue is that with all of this lifting the carb the stock air filter housing will not fit on it anymore with a stock hood. I had to replace it with edelbrock air filter that does fit under the hood. This was all fine until I moved to California and now my car doesn't even pass the visual smog inspection. The air cleaner can't be open to the elements. Anyway if you can work around all of those issues and your don't have a carb that can be rebuilt this is a good carb. You may want to check the serial on your current carb. It may be worth some money and might be better for your car to just get it refurbished. ... show more

    • Manual Choke, please be aware.
The Carburetor has a Manual Choke. Please be aware of this before ordering. I had to return it because it was not compatible with my application, which required an Electric Choke. Other than that, Edelbrock should be your choice!

This upgrade was easy to install on the Edelbrock Torqer 2 intake and very responsive on the throttle. Using a vacuum gauge to tune was simple.
