OK , when i open the box i see the cardboard is ripped that holds the carb at the pcv port. first red flag. Got it started and would only run with the manual choke on to run on high idle.So i brought up the idle adjustment to find that the idle mixture screws were turned almost all the way in. So someone already messed with this carb. In the end its adjusted with a vacuum gauge and runs good and i can't find anything wrong with it. With that said runs right out of the box did not apply here. Also the package was on my front steps in its original box ,no brown box so everybody knows what it was, thanks to my honest neighborhood it was still there when i got home from work. mike....... ... show more

does not have the automatic transmission kickdown linkage and by the photos it is hard to tell, some of the edelbrock's do, some dont, it should say in the discription, otherwise it is a great carb

The media could not be loaded. Awesome!!! I put this on my 1965 Ford Galaxie with a 390. The motor is mildly built, bored, .495 comp cam, performance cast iron heads, performer 390 edelbrock intake,MSD ignition, shorty headers, and full 3 inch exhaust with flow masters. It should make good power, and it did just okay with a Holley 4150 I had on it. This Edelbrock carb made my motor come alive, it’s like a totally different car. Easy to install, and the tune right of the box worked so good I wouldn’t dare mess with it. Runs flawlessly with way more power and smoother than my Holley it replaced. The only adjustment I made was to tweak the idle screw just a little. I changed that only twice with minor adjustments to get it how I wanted it. You can not go wrong in buying this carb for probably any mildly built motor under 400 ci. It is not very often anymore I am this impressed with a product. You can not go wrong with this user friendly, made in The USA product. Thank you Edelbrock! ... show more

I bought this Edelbrock to replace an old racing Street Demon 4b. Despite Edelbrock's reputation, I actually thought this was probably going to be a bit of a downgrade in terms of power and performance. Man, was I glad I was wrong. This carburetor isn't just as powerful, but the fact that it is more practical than the Street Demon makes it amazing. My Street Demon was clocked for a 150HP NO dump and was aggressively dialed to burn rich. After installing the Edelbrock, I'm just glad I can burn 87 without having to worry about breaking something! This product has been no less than absolutely satisfactory and I would recommend it to anyone doing a restore for a 350 small block chevy engine. This carburetor was installed in a 1979 Z28 Camaro I've been restoring for 7+ years. After retiring it from a bit of fun and racing, I'm glad I chose this product to gravitate it to a more practical driving machine without losing any of the power I've spent countless hours putting into the car. ... show more

    • Nice carb that fired up first try.
I used this on my 1979 corvette and it works great. It may have lost a little HP but it runs better and the fuel economy is also slightly better. The one issue that I had was that I needed a riser on the manifold to clear things like the EGR valve, which also needed an extension to clear the carb. The other issue is that with all of this lifting the carb the stock air filter housing will not fit on it anymore with a stock hood. I had to replace it with edelbrock air filter that does fit under the hood. This was all fine until I moved to California and now my car doesn't even pass the visual smog inspection. The air cleaner can't be open to the elements. Anyway if you can work around all of those issues and your don't have a carb that can be rebuilt this is a good carb. You may want to check the serial on your current carb. It may be worth some money and might be better for your car to just get it refurbished. ... show more
