Description

The Edelbrock AVS2 Series 1906 is a satin-finished four-barrel carburetor with electric choke that is designed and calibrated for optimum street performance in engines that require an air-fuel flow of 650 CFM. The AVS2 is a perfect replacement or upgrade that features annular flow primary boosters with a new calibration for improved off-idle and cruising performance. The annular flow booster design delivers improved fuel atomization to eliminate flat spots that may be encountered as the carburetor transitions from idle to full throttle. Each annular flow booster features eight equally spaced orifices to improve fuel metering from idle to the main circuit. The improved flow metering makes this carburetor ideal for use with a wide variety of small- and big-block engines with either dual- or single-plane intake manifolds. The Edelbrock AVS2 1906 includes both timed and full vacuum ports for ignition advance. It comes with: .101 primary and.098 secondary metering jets; .070 x .037 metering rods; orange (5" Hg) step-up spring. Use our Carburetor Stud Kits 8008 or 8024 if needed. Match with a variety of manifolds that include Edelbrock Performer, Performer EPS, RPM Air-Gap, Performer RPM, Torker II or other brands of similar design.

Great carburetor, I didn’t have to make any changes to jetting. I installed it onto a small block Chevy 350 that has a roller cam along with a Edelbrock aluminum intake. Car runs better than ever before. Highly recommended!

    • 79 F150 351M. Edelbrock AVS 2 not quite like EFI but VERY close!
I bought this carb to replace a Holley. I've always had Holleys on the 351M in my truck, but decided to try the Edelbrock because of the fuel delivery method on the AVS2. I could not be more pleased with the improvement. The Edelbrock responds immediately to the gas pedal. It does not stumble at all and accelerates smoothly and strong. The overall performance has improved dramatically since installing this carb. The engine is also running much more smoothly and even the exhaust tone is better than with the Holleys. To be fair, my guess is that I was just never able to get the Holleys tuned just right so this is not being critical of Holley carbs. I just lack that skill set to tune those carbs and the Edelbrock seems to be good out of the box. I only had to make slight adjustments to the idle speed screws. Another plus for me is that the Edelbrock is wider but not as deep as the Holleys. I have an electronic distributor that is larger than the OE distributor and with the Holleys it has always been really tight between the carb and the distributor. With the Edelbrock, I have at least an inch or so between them. It makes adjusting timing easier. I also added the Edelbrock 9265 heat insulator gasket which lifts the carb maybe a 1/4 inch which also helps with clearance. I gave it a 3 for installation ease because on the Fords it requires another kit (1483) for the C6 automatic transmission kick down bar to attach to the carb. It took some adjusting and getting a longer adjustment screw for this, but with some tinkering it works perfectly. Nothing really hard about the install, but it does require some fiddling to make everything work smoothly on the Ford. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase. ... show more

Put on sbc 350 and it works great. Had to of course raise the idle, adj mixture screws and choke fast idle. Very easy install with the assurance that you have purchased a quality product. Will come requiring a signature so arrange for that!

Don't waste your money. Edelbrock is owned by some investment group theses days. Making products cheaper and profits higher is the game. Bought the 650 AVS 2 and have had nothing but issues. Tried to call tech support and was on hold for 30 minutes one day and 40 minutes the next day just to be told to adjust the floats. You would think they were adjusted properly from the factory. Or I could by the step up spring kit and that "may" fix it. I was running a 1406 600CFM on the car before and didn't have to change any springs. The springs in the 1406 are lighter than the 1906 AVS. The 1406 should have had the same issues as the new one but it didn't. Also the booklet tells you to watch the dvd. lol. It doesn't come with a dvd and the address on the box and in the booklet are wrong. Investment group must not want to spend the money to reprint those things, how much do you think they put into the quality of there product? So if you want to buy something you will have to mess with constantly or buy additional parts or basically rebuild out of the box, then this is the carb for you. ... show more

Probably great carb, just wish amazon offered Exchanges Ordered this carb and packaging was in perfect condition. Unfortunately something is bent/binding with the secondary throttle blades and I am currently in the process of returning it and ordering a new one. The carb itself is probably great once i receive a working one, but I wish i could just exchange it instead of return and reorder it (and pay $20 more now). This is probably an Amazon thing but I wish there was an exchange option not just return. I will update once that whole process gets fixed but to be honest I'm hoping Edelbrock itself can somehow see this and do the exchange through them instead of Amazon. Edelbrock carbs are great so don't hesitate on them. ... show more
