This is an outstandingly good deal, IMO. Not to even mention the extra parts, i.e., air filter, fuel filter, spark plug, fuel hose and hose clamps, the carburetor is an exact fit for the B&S Engine on my Snapper LT140H33BbV Tractor-type, front engine mower, and the engine started up immediately after I installed the carb, and It ran flawlessly during a subsequent 1+ hour mowing job without any adjustments whatsoever. Last year I purchased an older (1995-97ish) Snapper 38" mower with a 14.5hp Briggs & Stratton engine that from day one always had engine surging issues. It made the mower almost unusable but I managed to limp it through the year. I'm not sure what was wrong with the old carb but I couldn't get it to tune in to run smoothly no matter what adjustments I made. Rather than rebuild and clean the old one I opted to purchase this one since it was only about $25, and that it also came with a new air filter and spark plug. Installation took about an hour total for everything. After letting the new carb fill up with gas, the engine started up smoothly on the first turnover and ran as smooth as silk, no surging at all. I did have to adjust the idle speed screw just a bit so it could throttle down according to how I set the engine speed, but that was it. I'm extremely happy with this purchase as it will allow me to actually use my mower as intended now without having to fiddle with the choke/throttle while in the middle of mowing. There are no instructions for what all the little extra pieces are for, but the small circled black plastic part seems to be an adjustment tool you put over the Idle mixture screw to be able to turn it with your fingers. Also in my application, I had to cut off the upward protruding piece of black plastic on the choke arm (circled in red on 2nd picture) as it was hitting the underside of the air intake manifold and wasn't allowing it to move freely. Once I removed it with a razorblade to be flush with the choke arm, the choke was able to fully engage and disengage. See closeup picture with it removed. Definitely will buy another one if I ever have carb issues again, but I doubt I will with this great one! ... show more

As advertised, buying the whole set up was nice everything was in good condition and was really inexpensive to keep the old riding lawnmower working. I did take 1 star off because I had to adjust a little for my engine which is not a big deal have work small engines before. The functional it was fine and it was a perfect fit. ... show more

I'm going to leave a review based on initial observations. If something changes after the carburetor has been in use for a while I'll update this review. My son and I used this to replace the carburetor on a 14.5hp OHV I/C Briggs and Stratton engine. It came installed on an old Deutz Allis lawn tractor. It isn't the original engine but is basically a more modern replacement. The carburetor on the engine was an old Walbro carburetor. No matter how I adjusted it(old enough that it had air/fuel mixture screw) it seemed to run rich. It would cause backfiring especially when the idle was lowered prior to shutting the engine down. The oil was full of gas when I changed it. Upon installing this carburetor the tractor fired right up and doesn't backfire even on low idle. So far I'm very pleased. Hopefully things stay as they are. But so far so good. ... show more

I ordered the 799727 698620 Carburetor (with the included 496894S air filter) to fix my riding mower that was having major starting and running problems. It was the exact replacement needed for my Briggs & Stratton engine, and it brought the mower back to life.     • Starts like a champ now!!
The float on my old carburetor was stuck and filled my crank case up with fuel. After draining all the fuel and installing this new carburetor, it fired off at the first turn and runs like a top. A+++
