  • It's More Than Chill!
About a year ago, I purchased a lesser ice machine that made the same type of nugget ice cubes, but you get what you pay for, and it didn't last a year. That was my first exposure to these types of machines. I didn't necessarily know what to look for when buying one. Now being more knowledgeable, and the prices, or the price difference between the lesser models and a model like this with the "bells & whistles", I found it was WAAAAY worth the extra money to pay up for the extra features. Starting in the beginning, after pulling the machine from the box was pretty straightforward. You're supposed to let the machine sit for about an hour to let the cooling fluid settle. It wasn't such a big deal, as I read the included instruction book while waiting. Other than using some of the features, using the machine is pretty simple and straightforward. The lesser model (Purchased on Amazon) had a design defect, where the ice would build up at the top, and the basket would never fully fill up! That's not an issue with this unit. I like the fact that this machine has a built in lite. I LOVE the fact it has a built-in cleaning feature. TRUST ME, YOU'RE GOING TO THANK YOURSELF FOR GETTING THIS machine with this FEATURE ALONE! This device has a unique feature that tests the quality of the water. This is actually important with ice machines, because if you use tap water, it has more particles in it and will affect any ice machine!! Look, I'm guilty of using tap water from time to time, in a pinch, when I've run out of bottled water. However, i didn't realize it could damage these types of machines. There are a few other features, like a time and room temperature display, and a timer to turn the machine on. I didn't think I'd need the timer, because I work from home and use the ice constantly. However, what I found was that with my previous machine, if the ice in the bin melted from a lack of use, the water was recycled back to making more ice. With this machine, when the bin fills, the machine turns off. Once off, if the ice cubes melt, yes, it goes back to being recycled to make more ice, but once the machine turns off, it doesn't come back on until you press the start button. I'd prefer it stayed on and whenever i go for ice, the bin is ready and full, but with all the other great features this ice machine has, and it's less than $100 more than the lesser models, I believe it's well worth getting a better machine with all the great features. I highly recommend this product! ... show more

  • Complete malfunctioning product, would never recommend
I've had quite a few countertop ice makers over the past 7-8 years. Since I don't want to leave this review completely negative, I will say a couple of positives first... I like the ice making speed (full bucket in a couple of hours) and how easy is it to fill the water reservoir. It's also very compact and the digital readout is very nice (although I'll address the TDS feature in the next section). The ice is true nugget ice, but can be a little sloshy instead of super crunchy. It has smart features, but really don't use them other than app notifications. It is nice to have be notified when the water is low. Notifications on cleaning cycle are also nice, but I wish you could tailor it to notify less frequently as I only use distilled water and it does not require near the amount of cleaning that regular tap water requires. Once the cleaning light goes off, you can only turn it off by running a cleaning cycle. But this review is really about why I would NOT recommend this ice maker. First, it is very loud. Much louder than any others I've had. It does not make a grinding noise like it's getting old (several I've had start to grind about a year or two in), but more of a constant hum that is noticeable in our entire great room / dining room area. I also want to quickly address the TDS readout. Our water is hard so we use only distilled water in our ice makers (lesson learned in the past) which keeps the TDS level between 20-40. But this readout is unreliable as I've seen it get up to 200 range using the same distilled water that we always use. After 4 months of use, all of a sudden we start getting an E:02 error as shown in the picture. What this means, according to the app, is that there is an ice jam in the ice maker. Instructions say to turn off for 30 minutes and then restart. Did this many times, no resolution. Did a thorough cleaning and still no resolution. I can see where the ice comes up and gets funneled into the basket, but there is no visible ice jam. So nothing we have tried will get this thing making ice now. I contacted ecozy support since I had exhausted all of my previous experiences cleaning and fixing ice makers. They responded and said it was a malfunction and to provide an invoice/receipt for proof of purchase. Once I did that, they responded and said since I purchased from Amazon, they would not be able to handle any product support or warranty services. No explanation as to what the issue was, no troubleshooting help, no guidance on next steps. Just a "call Amazon and go away" response. I was perplexed... Their product is malfunctioning, try to use common sense and help your customers. Not saying they had to provide a refund/exchange, but at least help with investigation and troubleshooting. But my guess is they already knew that my machine was unrepairable. In the end, due to that fact alone (and the malfunction), I would never recommend this product. There are many alternatives at this price point with these features. ... show more

  • Pleasant esthetic, functions well, makes ice quickly, has great options and is so easy to clean.
This review is based on the fact I've used it for a week. the ice basket is small, based on previous ice makers which i replaced BUT its quick to refill. the light makes it easy to see the ice. the size is incredible for what you get, the basket and tank are very easy to clean. the cleaning cycle is done with the press of a few buttons. I do not use the app so I cannot review it but the touch panel gives more than enough options for me and is easy to see and use the functions. the tank to fill is easily filled, either using a pitcher or taking it to the water cooler and filling it outside the machine. I have no cons, at all, at this time. the physical size of the device and tank and bin are what they are and as is, is perfect on this unit. Too small is a personal preference and should never be rated as a CON, you cannot change it, if you want something bigger, buy a bigger ice machine. I like it a lot though a bit pricy, but the functions out strip some of the more basic machines and thus far I do recommend this. ... show more

  • Smart panel does not work after 6 months
I bought this ice maker 1 year ago, and it was $339. That is actually insane that I paid that much and now it cost only $180. It was a good ice maker, but after 6 months the touch screen does not work at all. I have been relying on the app function for the past 6 months, but concerned that will also fail. I don't think I'd recommend since the control panel is so finicky ... show more

  • The Best Timer Nugget Ice Maker
I love this ice machine! My main love about it is that I can set it with my phone to turn off and on when I am not at home. For one, this allows the ice to make before I get home. I can set the timer at night to start making ice before I get up. It doesn't run my motor all the time which saves on the motor, and I can run it while away for a few days, so the water stirs around...so when I get home, I don't have to empty it and start over. It tells you on the panel when it needs cleaning, and it's very easy to clean. After cleaning, I pull the plug underneath to drain it. Then, I add more water. I love the fact I can do this all on the panel or on my phone. It has a blue light you can leave on or off. I love mine to be on. Just pretty! My only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is that I wish there was a different way to scoop the ice because I lose some on my counter and floor when getting ice. I just have to be careful and slower about getting my ice. ... show more

  • Failed 2 months past warranty
The ecozy IM-NS451B ice maker unexpectedly failed after just 14 months of use. Unfortunately, ecozy was unwilling to offer customer support or repair options because the unit was purchased through Amazon and was already two months beyond the warranty period. There were several things we really liked about this ice maker. The built-in Wi-Fi connectivity and scheduling were excellent features. We could schedule the machine to start making ice so it was ready exactly when we needed it, even if we were away from home or asleep. The machine was also relatively quiet during normal operation, only becoming noticeably louder when it needed cleaning. The ice itself was small, soft, and easy to chew, and the storage bin was designed to allow melted ice to drain back into the water reservoir, minimizing slush buildup. There were also a few drawbacks. The machine performed best with bottled water that had a TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) level below 200. Unfortunately, our pre-filtered tap water measured above 200 TDS, which caused the machine to run noticeably louder. Switching to bottled water made a significant difference in both performance and noise level. Although the unit advertises a self-cleaning function, it isn't fully automatic. The cleaning cycle still requires manually brushing the TDS sensor and internal surfaces, draining the machine between cycles, and repeating the process as needed. In addition, the machine would occasionally become loud enough to interfere with watching TV in the next room until it was cleaned. This unit was cleaned often and we only used bottle water that had a TDS level of 4. We feel like we took very good care of this ice maker and are dissapointed in its premature failure. At the original purchase price of $360, the value simply wasn't there. With a lifespan of only 14 months, the cost worked out to roughly $26 per month plus the cost of bottled water for the convenience of having fresh ice instead of buying bagged ice. Given the relatively short service life and the lack of post-warranty support, I cannot recommend this product. ... show more

  • Awesome Ice Machine!
We have been using this ice maker for a little over a month now and I’ve been very impressed with it, in fact it has been my favorite ice maker we’ve owned and this our third one. First off I have to say I REALLY like the look of this machine! It has a classier look to it than the one we previously owned and we’ve had friends comment on its look also. It has a blue light you can turn on and see how much ice is inside without having to open it, which obviously isn’t a necessity, but is a nice feature and my kids sure think it looks cool! It makes the perfect pebble soft ice if you are an ice chewer. I also like the way the ice is fully enclosed inside the machine and not just a lid over the top because I feel like it keeps the ice colder so it doesn’t melt as quickly. My favorite thing about this machine is the way the ice is dropped it doesn’t build up a wall and set off the ice full sensor when it is not, our previous two machines both did that and could be frustrating at times. Another feature that has been a nice bonus is the smart feature. I can turn it on and off from my phone or Alexa and it will notify my phone when the machine is out of water or the ice is full, it even notified me once that the TDS level was high, which I had to look up what that meant, but was great to know! I have been extremely happy with the purchase of this ice maker and recommend it to anyone looking! ... show more

  • Always breaking
This ice maker look nice and sleek but works horribly. It has broken 3 times since we’ve had it in February and is officially not working anymore. It starts making loud noises then stops producing ice. It’s been a pain since we’ve had it which is a bummer bc I really enjoyed the nugget ice.
