  • Very Easy to Measure Brake Pad Wear
This inexpensive tool is a real time and work saver to monitor brake pad wear on my vehicles. I no longer have to remove my tires to do this. I used to only measure whenever I rotated my tires. Now I can monitor any time.

  • does not come ready to use
bought this since i’m a lube tech at nissan and needed a way to measure brake pads instead of asking other techs for they’re tools, when i first used it it wasn’t giving me the right readings so i’m order for me to make it work i had to shave down the metal rod to the right length in order for it to be used on ever day cars ... show more

  • Does the job.
Got this so I don't have to take the tires off to get a decent reading. Although sometimes you can get an idea if you look closely at an angle but this make quick work of that. Inexpensive and quick. Get it.

  • Great little device! Heard about these on Youtube
I didn't even know these existed until I saw a comment on Youtube about them. Definitely a handy little device, glad I have it, takes the guessing out of the equation...

  • Works But Measurements Incorrect
This brake gauge is easy to use but I almost immediately found out it is 1.7mm lower than the actual measurement. I'd rather not have to add 1.7 mm to my measurements each time I use this tool.

  • How The Heck Do You Read This Thing?
Ok, ok.. So when you go to use this measuring tool, you have to account for the brake shoe back plate depth which you measure off of, but I just look at the end needle to get my bearings.. I'm just a simple DIY'r who wrenches on his own cars. I possess no quantifiable mechanical experience and quite possibly lack a certain degree of common sense. That all being said, (in my humble opinion), the actual measurement indicator would seem to me to be much more logical if it were color coded, instead of fractions and no instructions what-so-ever on how to decode it. - In closing; Logical Color Coded Indicator. Add/Or Simple Instructions. ... show more

  • Perfect for checking brake pad thickness!
This little guy here has helped me accurately show dealership customers the condition of their brake pads when we create inspection videos for them. This one is not only cheaper than some of the other variations out there but in my opinion is easier and quicker to use than the twist type that my coworker uses. Time is money and this one is by far faster in my opinion. Worth every dollar. ... show more
