These are one of those pieces of furniture that the instructions are a challenge to follow. I had to take this apart several time before I finally figured it out. The main key is the part number 8 is exactly the same for both sides. This does not make sense because there is a reset area that the head of the bolt sits in. Well both number 8s, the large rail on the sides, both have the recess on the same side. They are exactly the same, meaning that the recess must be on the inside on one of these sides allowing the bolt to sit high on hole provided for it. This took a while for my mind to accept this because common sense dictates it sit on the outside of both sides. This is not possible. So don't fight it , you can't.

This was a great purchase and easy to put together. The only issue I had was that one of the cabinet door pulls was damaged. I reached out to customer service and they got back to me right away! They weren’t able to provide replacement knobs, but refunded me enough that I was able to order my own! Very impressed!

Great shelf. I put it together by myself in about an hour. The allen wrench screws for the shelves are a little tedious because of quantity, but not difficult by any means and the only reason it took me so long to assemble. The instructions are just pictures, but clear and very easy to follow. It looks great and will be sturdy enough to support my plants. I would definitely purchase this again.

I am so happy with this shelf. It looks as beautiful as pictured. It feels well-made and definitely a good value for the money. However, I have some tips to make your assembly a bit easier than mine, hopefully. I purchased the shelf with storage in the base. I love this storage! It's a great size but a pain to assemble. A couple things.... I would put the knobs on the doors before you assemble the storage box base. The directions say to put the knobs on later, but good luck opening the doors if you wait. Also, you REALLY need a second set of hands for this part, because you have to align the top to go on while balancing the doors in place. You'll save a lot of frustration and cursing by having someone gently lower the top while you align the top to drop down without the round screw holders falling out of the sides or the doors falling down. And when I say gently, I mean gently because some of the round screw holders sit snug in the sides and some of them will fall out with the slightest vibration. Moving on.... There is a front and a back to the shelves. The side with the screw hole slightly farther back from the edge is the front. For part 10 when you assemble the metal sides, I at first thought the indented holes showed the outside of the part because you could sink your screws. That's not the way to tell. It's how the "u" of the top edge is facing. This will make a difference because the base of the leg is on an angle, it is not reversible. The "u" should be facing inwards. Also, when you reach the point of attaching the crossed back support, the diagram shows putting the nut on the inside front. I wouldn't do it this way. To tighten the nut, it is inevitable you will scratch up the metal a bit while holding it in place with the wrench. Instead, put the bolt on the inside front and the nut on the back of the unit. You can hold the bolt in place and tighten the nut without worrying about scratching the paint, because it's on the back side of the unit anyway. Also, the diagram shows putting the nut on with the built in washer side first. I could not get the nut to start screwing on this way - the washer blocks the initial threads. I put it on the other way, and you are able to tighten the nut enough that the washer helps to hold the nut nice and tight. I bought two of these. The first unit took me about 45 minutes - 1 hour to assemble. The second unit only took me about 30 minutes.

The shelf looks as expected, the joints don’t line up the best which is a bit annoying but probably I will be the only one to notice. There is no directions, only small diagrams. The diagrams do not tell you what is front and back. We did figure it out after we assembled it wrong and had to do it over. Once we were finished I realized all the part number stickers were facing the same way so that’s how you tell. All the stickers are on the back sides of the metal parts. If you lay the tops down on their sides as shown to add the shelves, the number 10 should be as it would be written, not upside down and backwards. Number 7’s will then be on the bottom with the sticker facing the floor from this view and 6’s on the top with the sticker facing the floor. Assemble the rest as shown. But definitely better labeling and written directions would have saved us an hour and I don’t that it’s hard to just add a few lines of text or some arrow stickers indicating which way faces forward or back.

Honestly it's a good shelf. It's not the sturdiest in the world but it doesn't really need to be. There were a few visible scratches but truly nothing that made a difference to me. And personally it didn't take more than 15 minutes to put together (with power tools though, we didn't use the small allen wrench provided). Overall it works for exactly what I need so I'm happy!

I bought this item and had to return for a replacement. The first time I tried to assemble this product I realized that they had sent me 5 bottom leg pieces instead of four which meant I could not finish assembling the product. I then returned it and received a replacement. I was able to fully assemble the shelves and then realized that the pieces had been mislabeled in production causing me to have fully assembled the product incorrectly. It seems like this product is shipped and labeled with very little care. For the price it’s not a terrible book shelf. It is very easy to assemble if labeled correctly. However, I can tell it isn’t super well made. I will be keeping the shelf since it does still work but I probably wouldn’t recommend this product.
