  • A perfect compendium for beginners
What is most appealing to me about this work is its range of pieces (50 in total) which include some all-time favourites by a number of the great composers (Brahms, in particular, stood out to me as someone who loves his "Hungarian Dances"). The pieces are classified into three levels of difficulty, allowing the learner to steadily progress over time and add complexity to his/her playing. It should be noted that you must know how to read music in order to benefit from this collection. The biggest benefit of "Piano for Beginners" is, however, that the way in which the music is presented is simplified and therefore much easier to follow than your average songbook. I personally benefitted immensely from the straightforward and easy notation and have by now worked through most of the pieces. I can warmly recommend this book to all piano beginners (provided they know how to sight-read) and look forward to more. ... show more

  • A lot of fun
50 beautiful classical melodies from famous composers in one book - magnificent! I'm in love with these melodies! Here you can see Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and many more. Melodies are a bit shortened and simplified versions of the timeless classics, but that's ok. It's easier like this to step into the world of timeless classics. The book is divided into three parts, each a bit harder than the previous one. You can slowly learn and enjoy your progress. Should be a lot of fun to try these out. I looked for my favorite play, Fur Elise, a bit disappointed it wasn't there, but I guess that play is more difficult than the rest. Nonetheless, I know half of the rest by heart and I like them very much. Happy to have this book. ... show more

  • For Classical Music Lovers
Since I was a kid I wanted to learn to play piano, but somewhat, it was never a good time. With this series of books, I'm finally fulfilling my wish: I started to learn to play by myself and I was delighted when I realized that there are books like this one that can teach you how to play your favorite classical music parts even if you are not so good at playing piano. Bach is my favorite composer and I always wanted to be able to play his music. Now I'm learning it, slowly but surely, because this book contains simplified versions which I can follow divided into three levels of complexity so you can start with easier parts and then continue to the harder ones. ... show more
